Smile Counting Calories

I think I'm going to like this site... I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and maintained for a while but have gained some back and have be trying to get back on track, so here goes.... I do best when I COUNT CALORIES so I love this part of this site. As I read in someone else's post, different things work for different people and you have to do what works for YOU.

Breakfast: Cottage cheese 100 cal
coffee with 1/2&1/2 100

lunch cottage cheese 100
cinnamon toast crunch cereal 400

dinner salad w/blue cheese dressing & olives 400
cinnamon toast crunch cereal 400
tea w/milk & sugar 60

total 1560

When I was REALLY successful I was on 800 calories or less a day and burned 700 calories on the elliptical. I lost 40 lbs in 3 months at the onset of the fitness plan. I'm working full time now and will be happy to stick to 1000 cal a day or less and burning 500 calories on the elliptical or a 3 mile walk at least 5 X per week.

I can't wait to feel like I'm sparkling again!

I am so tired, I will have to catch up tomorrow but I really need to rant. I put the Wii Fit Plus disk in to see how it was different and seriously, it pisses me off! It forces me to weight in KG. WHY CAN'T I CHANGE IT?? I guess I have to lie and say I am live in the US on the Wii itself. Stuff like this really erks me, just becuase I live in Canada - I really should have the option to pick pounds. ESP since its already built in the game and the last Wii Fit weighed in POUNDS! Okay, end rant and good night.

Sparkling Hi and Welcome! I see that you ate 1560 calories today. I think that's a great start especially for long term weight loss goals. A person's body needs more than a 1000 calories a day to stay healthy. You don't want to lose the weight, and then go off plan and gain because it's a lifestyle change that you cannot maintain. I think the 1500-1600 calories is something you can do for the rest of your life. You might lose slowly, but hopefully it will stay off, and you won't have to work at losing again. You will be sparkling in no time.

Yeah!! I'm finally seeing the fruits of my labor. Three lbs down from my "starting" weight (technically five pounds down from my "water weight" or whatever that was).

So yeah...

And of course... my ticker... *pokes the armadillo*

ETA: Oh... and I'm finishing up my last school final and going to Orlando, FL today!! So yeah... should be fun.

Good Morning All! So far so good this morning. I had a pretty good breakfast, 3 dippy eggs cooked in a spritz of cooking spray, 2 pieces of wheat toast , with a table spoon of butter, and some Orange juice. All total a 500 calorie breakfast. Need to get back on track after a super bad memorial day week end. Having a cup of hot green tea, then it is off to the gym

Welcome Tara!

Penguin - I think a dippy egg is a soft boiled egg that you can dip your bread into. You take the top up and cut your bread into strips; it is delicious!

Last night's BBQ wasn't that great; I over ate some pita chips and fresh guacamole - the guacamole was sooo good, omg. Least it's "healthy" calories lol.

Today is kinda, meh. I have a feeling there might be a work lunch today *sigh* - I have thrown all hope of losing weight out of the window for this week (again) - I hate how the weeks ad up and up and your six months in the year and you haven't lose any weight. Anyway... I am just in one of those moods today. I am not going to let this ruin my healthy eating today.

I call them dippy eggs, but I think the real term is sunny side up lol . Sotypical is correct, ya poke ya yellow part and dip your bread into it

Thanks guys, that was a new one on me. I have to admit I like my eggs soft also. Hubby gets grossed out, though. Of course his idea of a snack is pickled okra.

Weird fact about me: I was born/raised in the South but my parents are both from the North, so I eat mostly 'Northern' food, with a few exceptions {I was in College before I tried most traditional Southern food}. Hubby's background is more Southern/country so we don't agree on a lot of foods choices, but I do the cooking so guess who is changing faster, LOL.

OH, I was thinking of something different. This is what I thought of as a dippy egg.

Where you hard boil it, but so the yolk doesn't go hard. Then you break the top of the shell and sit it in a little cup. My dad used to make that for me when I was little.

it is the same idea, but ya just cook the egg in a pan and then plate them with the toast. you crack the egg in the pan ( don't break the yoke. let the egg white cook around it, and there ya go

Tara - I do my eggs like yours often. Love them like that!

sacha - your sushi and sashimi look awesome! I have tried to go it myself before but I have this thing about preparing my own raw fish. I couldn't eat it without gagging - I am weird, it didn't taste bad, it was all in my head.
