Thank you guys soooo much. I went to work out this morning and there was like NO ONE out.
And Hyacinth that sounds like a great idea, but I kind of live in the country in Georgia and the stores are far away from the neighborhood and I'd probably pass out when I get there from 80 degree heat with humidity. So I think I'll just work out in the morning when it's cooler.
Look at that face, you're beautiful! Turn on your iPod and just tune them all out. I joined the Y, people there of all shapes and sizes, old and young. I really think people are concentrating on themselves and not even noticing other people, I know I don't.
Thanks, I've always been known as the big girl with the pretty face, but by next year it'll be just "the pretty girl"
And I just figured out there's a womens gym not far from where I stay! I need to go check it out.
Mello, look at your pic... you are BEAUTIFUL, girl!
If you don't feel comfortable walking outside just yet, turn on some music around the house and dance around, it burns a lot of calories! Or you can do what I used to do, I would turn music on and march in place. Same thing as walking, you just don't go anywhere, just like on a treadmill.

Thanks! And I just may try that. And yippie for Gaga Monsters!
KIDDO it is always hard for us to put ourselves in situations we feel uncomfortable...
it has happened to me in the past, but not for weight issues.
All I can say is if getting out there is what you want to do (and I suggest it...wink) then get out there and I will continue to send prayers up for you...
You can do this...
Focus on how comfortable it will be for you next year at this time!
nicely put.
I used to get up at the dawn hour to go to the gym so barely anyone would see me. after a period of time, I got more comfortable and realized it was not the judgmental situation I had built it up in my mind to be (people have even made very nice comments to me about my progress, and given me tips, etc.).

One of the reasons I don't like working out in public and such is because I feel like I might be doing something wrong:S And all the fit people will snicker and make fun of the fat girl who doesn't know how to exercise :P
I've seen people of all sizes do the wackiest things at the gym. I've noticed, and my gym trainer said to me too, that people get very sensitive about their "exercise knowledge." hence, no one will most likely snicker because he/she won't know if you're doing it right or wrong. and to follow that up, don't be afraid to ask if you have questions, that's what the gym employees/trainers are there for.

It's a shame you live so far away! I could be your workout partner and I could distract everyone...they could snicker at me instead.
Either way, you shouldn't let them stop you. If you want to exercise outside, go for it! In 10 years, who's gonna care that you trying to lose weight and doing jumping jacks in your yard? Bravo to you for working out in the first place!
aw girl, don't let anyone keep you from working out! definitely go for a jog. i love running. trust me when i say, everyone is too wrapped up in themselves to pay attention to you. the sooner you start, the easier it'll be!
