I skipped all the replies in my hurry to respond to your comment about running after supper. I've tried running at various times during the day, and it's always, always easiest for me in the evening. After a full day of eating properly, and moving around, my body seems really happy to do exercise. I've run in the morning and could never seem to be awake enough, and even when I'd give myself time to eat a little and digest, I didn't have the energy I had later in the day. So maybe your new schedule will be great!
Also, if you don't want to take the toddler with you, maybe give some serious thought to leaving the kiddo(s) with a friend, or finding a friend who has kids and runs. She could babysit while you run and you could do the same for her. Just a thought. I'm sure you'll find something that works.
Don't rush the weight loss, but good luck!
