Whoa! That would be 125! I can't even phathom that weight! I guess we'll see. I'm just getting really impatient...I want to see what my goal weight is going to be, I think my body is going to tell me and by the way it's going I think it will be 138-148, I'm not sure I'll be able to maintain much less than 138, but we'll see. Interesting stuff girls.

Edited to add: I just looked at what it would take to maintain 128 and it's actually just a little more than what I'm eating now and I'm really happy at my current calorie count. Maybe if I just stay at this level and let the weight come off naturally I'll eventually even up at 128 or maybe less...hmmmmm

Me and my sister are the same height at 5'5'' and we look the same when I am at 140lb and her at 125lb - so I do beleive that the bone structure itself has a lot to do with it, as well as fitness and body shape - I'm apple, she is pear.

My initial goal was 140lb (slimmest when I was 20)

Now it's 135

I was in my late 30s and my lowest weight was 129 a couple of years ago. I was mostly happy with the way I looked at that weight but still had some spare flab hanging around on my belly.

So I want to get back there and maybe try for a few pounds less to see if that spare flab will shift.

This post may or not be helpful as I do not have a numerical goal weight. I'll know when I get there, I guess - I don't have any idea.

Having said that, I am 5'5" and almost 39 years old. I am built strong and muscular - and I like my muscles - and even at my thinnest at age 16 I never got below 155. So I doubt I will get much below 165 this time around. In fact, I am not even really expecting to get to 165. (As an adult, I've never been below 185.)

The BMI charts put 150 as the top of the healthy range for my height, but I just don't see that happening for me. But - I'll see when I get closer.

Eliana, you got that right! I was confused at first, I didn't realize this was an old post, haha.

Ncuneo, I am 5'5", right smack in my mid thirties, currently 142, but I know @ 138 I can wear size 4's and 6's. I am guessing @ your current weight 10's would fall right off of you and 8's would be extremely baggy!

Congrats on your hard work!!!!

Haha! This is so weird to read!

Well here's the update for you and you might be surprised. I'm maintaining 138-143, so pretty much my original goal of this post. And sure enough I am in fact an 8/10. Although very few 10s and only in designers that run small. I can fit into a 6, but they never feel right so I go with the 8. Up to I'm pretty consistantly a medium, occassionally small and again in some designers a large.

Yes things are still a little saggy, but improving with time and hence why my latest focus is on body recomposition. So I'm trying to essentially gain muscle and lose fat keeping my body weight the same but shrinking and tightening things a bit.

At this point I have no interest in the 120s, getting more solidly into the 130s maybe, but I'm pretty content where I am and am really starting to get some impressive results from strength training, eating cleanly at maintenance and yoga. So just more time and patience for me.

Thanks for the fun trip down memory lane!

I am 5'5 and my comfortable weight is 125. I was about 90-100lbs throughout high school so that's a fair bit more than my 'comfy weight' of 110-115 in my 20's

I just read that your stat says 5'6" so the extra inch (okay, okay 1 1/2 inches, lol) probably accounts for the difference in clothing size. My neighbor, who was VERY slim told me she wore a 10 and I was like WHAT?!? Then I realized, DUH, she is 5'10"

I feel pretty comfortable with myself in the 130's but I am going to shoot for high 120's and see how that goes. My body seemed to REALLY like 138, I stayed there for months and was holding pretty well. But by the looks of it now, it really seems to like the 140's too! Although I know 140's as it stands now (lots of jiggly still going on) is not where I'm happy just yet.

I'm glad this was bumped, as it is good to read that there are a wide range of goal weights for my height (5'4.5") and age (32). I have a large frame (based on wrist and elbow measurements, which wasn't a surprise), and my official goal is 147. I don't think my weight has been that low since I was 14 or so, and can't imagine what it might be like or what size I'd wear at that weight. My secret goal is 140 (half my starting weight), but I don't really believe that's realistic for me.
