Question Going on Vacation...

So I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not....but here it goes...

I am leaving tomorrow morning to go to Tennessee for a few days, Its only been 2 weeks since i started my weight loss journey, and I am so afraid that being on vacation and not having my kitchen right there will be hard on me. My hotel does have an indoor pool so I can still get a workout in every day, but does anyone have any advice on how to keep the weight coming off while being away on vacation?

Thanks for reading...
Steph

I tend to walk a lot when I'm on vacation. Portion control and try to make the best choices you can.

My biggest problem on vacation is that when I am faced with any eating opportunity that is even slightly out of the ordinary, my brain goes into this weird loop of "this is a one time chance to eat this! Go for it! It would be an Epic Tragedy if you don't have X", where "X" could be something truly exotic and special, or it could be a cheeseburger at a diner. Once I realized I did this, vacations became much easier because I developed a response "No", I say to my inner 2-year old "you can have this some other time. This place will still be here. It's not really a Big Deal".

This was a huge breakthrough for me.

The second thing to remember is that it's ok to waste food. If you order sensibly but they bring you a huge portion, eat half and then ask the waiter to take your plate even if others are still eating. Or ask for a to-go box, box up half, and leave it there when you leave. You paid for the experience, not the food.
