My thoughts exactly. When starting out I had a hard time controlling myself with certain trigger foods, but after a great deal of practice I've adapted to the moderate approach surprisingly well. Personally, I think it's important to acquire the skill of self-control with all foods, not just "diet-friendly" foods, so that when you encounter them they don't send you in a total tailspin. You can condition yourself to be okay with a cookie or two, but it takes time. I also think it takes a period of stable eating before you're prepared to tackle that challenge. Until then you might want to find a good substitute for your cookies, as others have mentioned.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE those cookies, but if they are in reach I will eat them ALL! So good, but 100 cal packs are only good if you can keep it to one pack. lol. I just can't even buy those anymore. They are TOO good for me. lol.

I think that is just an example of the theory. People have different reactions to different things in their lives. Any number of events could cause someone to develop a tendancy to an action. I think overeating is a habit for most people. Why that habit is formed is another question. It is interesting to think about, but the is not a single answer. Different people may have different reasons or even multiple reasons for a single person. I am currently contemplating what my reason may be. Possibly, if I fix that cause, then I can more easily also fix my weight problem. Just food for thought.
