my realistic motivation is knowing that I'm not getting any younger and I want to be a beautiful bride one day and a healthy mother
I've been yo-yo dieting since I was a teenager and this is the year that I'm sick of it and want to do it right this time. Turning 24 really made me wake up and smell my twenties flashing before my eyes...

As for me I'm much smaller than most everyone who weighs less than I do and is my same height. My arms are the same size as they were when I was around 125 pounds. PLUS I gained thirty pounds and never got bigger, wasn't eating differently and wasn't exercising. Around that time I gained ten pounds in five days using the same scale. I've never been pregnant yet have mostly gained weight in my middle area and nowhere else (like pregnant women do). And considering I have an IUD and its been more than 9 months since the last time I had sex there is no way I could be pregnany. I find it all weird.

Hana, Thanks for listing the website. But I have to ask, what is a banana shape? Is that a straight/rectangular shape?

When I was learning about this stuff, we called it H-shaped. Shoulders and hips the same with very little waist definition.

Susan, I'm a banana! My boobs and hips are the exact same measurement, but my waist is "thick". I counteract that with tapered tops and/or belts.

Losermom the banana
Actually, it's more about silhouette than actual measurements. As far as dressing properly goes, there are other tricks for what sticks out the front and back
We included a V-shape which is very common too. Broad shoulders with straight, narrow hips and slender legs.

What cured my flat butt was doing 45 minutes on the treadmill at a 15% incline, 2.5 MPH twice a week. It's like doing a stair-stepper but less impact. I went from no butt at all to a very nice butt that looks GREAT in Levi's.
<-- If you see in that picture, there's plenty of fat above where my butt should be, but that's not butt, that's just fat. It's all gone now and I have a real, toned, defined butt.

Oh yes! I've been hanging around the 'Resistance Exercise' threads lately. I really need to get back into it. They're very motivating. And I've moved on now to youtube videos. Such fun and such a variety of thins I can do.
Would you find that interesting?

The thing that drives me nuts is that I weigh so much more than everyone else in my size. My 5'4" mom weighs about 165. She is loose/comfortable in a 14.
In that same pair of 14s, I (205) am comfortable/fit tight(not skin-tight or muffin-top but it FITS). It makes her mad that I'm the same size as her and weigh 40 pounds more.
And, looking at the site, people range from 165 to 190 in a size 14...it's not just like I found one pair of freakishly mis-labeled pants. I just went shopping and bought a half dozen...
I know that my frame is large, I have always had a hard time with shoulders and jewelry and shoes and things. I just have such a disassociation with my body right now that I have no idea what I really look like. It is worse because people are stopping me in the hall and saying "WOAH you are soo skinny (I lost 55 lbs, most of it over one semester, and I had been wearing my fat clothes last semester hobo-style and am sporting a new wardrobe of 14s)...

I primarily want to lose weight to be healthy. I don't have any health problems now, and I don't want any. I also want to lose weight for my self-esteem and to be able to shop at "regular" stores. I want to be able to wear high heels again without pain and blisters.

My motivations are both health related and for vanity reasons, too.
For one, I'd like to look my age. I'm 25 years old but I've been mistaken for being in mid-30s because of the way I look and because of the way I carry myself and the clothes I wear.
Also, I want to buy cute, affordable clothes. I hate absolutely every piece of clothing I have. Whatever I like doesn't fit and whatever does fit is too expensive. I want to just walk into the store, check out the sales rack and pull out whatever I like in my size.

I tried the MyBodyGallery and it was pretty neat. I plugged in a few dimensions. But my only complaint is that so many of them are wearing baggy clothes so it's hard to tell what they look like, lol. Maybe it's just the searches I did, but every single one was wearing layers and sweatshirts and baggy pants.

Well I kinda do something in between. I get a picture with someone of a nice body (in a bikini) and I cut the head off. Lol. I usually just keep it by my weights but tonight I decided that I want to put it into my calorie journal. To keep me more motivated!
