Question My new plan is an old one.

Many moons ago in 2006, I weighed 16?.?. I wanted to lose weight. I very much believed in the calorie deficit idea. I created an Excel spreadsheet which was very detailed and also logged my food in Excel.

i looked back at this log and found an interesting theme.

My goal was 1400 cs, back then, I just thought you had to increase your activity and slightly monitor your calorie intake

The worksheet had the following values: Goal cs. was in between wt and Actual Cs on the worksheet. It was always 1400. (i did real good sticking to that

date wt Actual Daily activity Daily def. Total Def. lbs lost
6/6/06 171
6/7/06 168.6 1880 980 500 500 .14
6/8/06 169 1721 1039 718 1218 .35
6/9/08 169.4 1670 450 180 1398 .40
6/10/06 168.4 1805 980 575 1973 .56
6/11/06 168.6 1535 930 795 2768 .79
6/12/06 168.2 1880 780 300 3068 .88
6/13/06 168 1860 980 520 3588 1.03
6/14/06 167.8 1610 880 670 4258 1.22
6/15/06 167.6 1710 700 390 4648 1.33
6/16/06 168 1695 470 175 4823 1.38
6/17/06 169 1475 880 805 5628 1.61
6/18/06 167.6 1710 700 390 6058 1.73

Well, it was almost 4 years ago, but maybe just maybe if I use the same principles, that I was just touching on back then..my weight loss will pick back up. Back then, I did this for 2 months, then gave up. Boy did I like to give up.

It's worth a shot.

Can you explain it a little more? Is "Actual" what you eat and "Daily activity" your exercise?

oh yes, Jay. My goal was always 1400 my Actual is the actual number of calories I ate. Daily activity was EVERY activity I did for the day (using online calculators). The next one Daily Deficit was the difference between my Goal calories and Actual Calories minus the Activity calories for that day. The Total Deficit was a running total of the daily deficits since the start. And the lbs. lost, was the Total Deficit/3500. I used alot of formulas in the worksheet.

this text box messed up my formatting...I had it spaced out alot more.

I was very sleepy last night, but I printed out that log. I am going to do my best to use the actual numbers...since what I am doing...1200 cs/day and STICKING to it...is not working for me...I guess I am going to perform an experiment to see if that method will still work for me.
