Default Hello again

Well I have spent the last couple of weeks off plan and not going to the gym except maybe a couple of times here and there. I burned myself out and did something I shouldn't have, but decided to get back on track and get going again. I was 286 and have gained back up to 297 trying to get to 200 so I have added some time to that. =/

I found a few things that defeated me and I'm going to try and change them this time around. I noticed that weighing myself everyday became and obsession and harmed my weight loss a lot in the long run. I know some people can do it but I weighed myself like 20 or more times a day and every time I gained even a few ounces it would hurt me mentally and I would be ready to scream. SO this time I'm going to try and just do it once a week on monday mornings I weighed myself this morning and im getting back into the gym tonight.

The next thing was thinking this is a race I pushed myself so hard for months and just kept myself at such a high level of stress and maxium push trying to do this as fast as I could. In the end it burned me out not going as fast as I thought it should and again hurt me mentally and I had a two week laspe in judgement. This time I'm trying to go into it looking as whenever it all finally comes off then it does. It won't be a race or me trying to kill myself to hurry up and lose it as fast as I can. I knew it was going to take time but I tried way to hard to speed it up and it just burned me out.

I am going to try and make these changes and just get back into eating like I should which I did all weekend and add the gym to it th 5 or 6 nights a week I used to go and just get back on track. So I just wanted to say hello again because I haven't been here much in those 2 weeks.

I also want anyone to know who might be going through something like this that it helps to step back and really figure out what was making you lose track of your goal and get off plan that you can get back on. Don't just quit and say oh well I tried you can get back on and everything will be fine in the end. Change your goals and your habits to fix the problem and just continue with your journey.

Thanks for listening!

Nate, thanks for the reminder that weighing in every day can backfire. I have found it helpful to keep myself motivated, but for some (like you, perhaps) it can take over one's life.

Welcome back... It's good that you didnt let yourself get too far gone... I somehow took the whole summer off and lost a lot of the progress I had made.

Good Luck

Hey, Nate, good to see you again! I've experienced the burn out thing too, with the weight loss and with the gym. (I even stepped away from 3FC for a while lately too, and just came back, bec I'd stayed going up and down with the same few lbs for weeks on end.)

Congrats on getting back on track!
