I think a lot of people don't realize how much long-term harm the way they treat others can have, whether it is simply following their own whims of concentrating on the sporty children and ignoring the ones they don't consider interesting or making what they think are clever remarks without understanding how the psyche works.
I remember sitting in academic classes, bored as the teacher went over and over lessons I already understood. Nothing like that happened in physical education, where they point is to educate students about physical activities. I probably would have been much better off if they'd had something like "advanced placement P.E." for the athletes and regular P.E. for those of us prone to getting hit in the face with the volleyball. I probably would enjoy physical activity a lot more if I didn't have such negative memories associated with it. After all, games are supposed to be fun. It's not especially fun when you're a constant dodgeball target.
