Please read if you are 5 ft 10 or 5 ft 11
Hey tall girls, I've been reading through some of the posts related to height but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm curious to find out, with my larger frame, what size I can get to when I finish losing? I haven't yet decided on my final goal weight, need to do a little more research before I do, but let's say 175 or so. I know all bodies are different, BUT, in your opinion, would I be a size 12? Less than that???

Everyone is verrrry different, just as you've said. When I was back around 200 or maybe even 205, I wore a snug size 12 and I'm only 5'9!
Good Luck!

I'm 5'10 and at my lowest weight 155 I was a size 14/16 b/c of my belly... so it really depends on the person (like you said).
My healthiest weight IMHO was 170 lbs where I was a comfy size 16, again b/c of my belly (skin).

I would say our bodies are very different as well. At 5'6, 200 lbs, I am able to wear size 14s. So I'd imagine when I'm in the 170s, I'd be a size 12 and maybe even a size 10. I am also a pearish body frame and I'm talking about pant sizes.
So it would definitely depend on your body type, how much muscles you have, etc.
What size are you right now?

I'm almost 5'11 and always carried my excess weight well. When I was down to 192 a couple of years ago I was a size 14. When I was VERY small, long before I started having babies, I was still a 14. I think that sizing has changed a lot over the past 25 years or so. I wouldn't mind being the new 14.

Hi Bry1638, I haven't been a normal weight for so long that I don't really know. Many years ago I was 155, but didn't exercise so I was still a size 16. I was still really flabby.
Like others have said, we are all different. I am shooting for 174 right now because that is a normal BMI, and will be 100 pounds lost for me, and that is as much as I could contemplate when I was starting.
Have you seen this Tall Girls thread? Lots of us tall girls on this board.
Keep up the good work, you are doing great!

Right now, I am wearing a 16. For the most part. I have one or two pairs of 16's that are tight, and one pair that's getting loose. I have a pair of size 14 jeans from Old Navy I can wear comfortable, but I think they are "magic" jeans haha.

At 165 and 6 ft tall I wore a size 12. But I think so much depends on your bone structure, muscle mass, fat distribution, etc. You could be smaller or bigger. You'll know when you get there!

I'm a bit shorter but I carry my weight evenly distributed, and a lot of people think I'm 5'9-5'10. Right now I'm about 230 and right in the middle of size 16 pants/jeans--some are snug, some are loose. I also have several pair of size 14 jeans a friend bequeathed to me, and I can pull them up all the way but they come no-where close to fitting. I am thinking when I get to 200 lbs I will be on the low end of size 14. It really depends on where you carry your weight. I'm big-boned, very muscular, very large hands and feet (size 13 shoe!) with a proportionately small waist (36"). You will probably only know for sure when you get there.

I weigh 207, I'm 5'10" and I'm an 11/12 now. I'm aiming for 160 and I hope to be a 7/8. Hope this helps!

Agreed!
The last time I lost a significant amount of weight, I was 190 and in a regular 14 - 16 jeans depending on the cut...but I was STILL in a 1 - 2X top because of the girls, again, depending on the cut.
I really wouldn't get too hung up on size labels...wear what fits.

I'm 5'10" and the last time I was wearing 'regular clothes' I was in a UK 16, which is a Cdn 14. I think I was around 190-200 then. I could have dropped about 20lbs, but at the time didn't think it was a big deal. :s
The 16 was big on my waist, as I (then) had a tiny waist and flat stomach - oh, for those days!

Im 5'11 and I wear 16's. You ask anyone and they say Im wearing a 12 and they also guess 30lbs lighter. (A bonus for me!) It is very different for us tall woman with size and weight. My goal is based off of having a "Healthy" BMI. It is in the high end, and I will adjust my goal once I reach it. I honestly feel pretty healthy. I know I need to lose 10-15 more lbs but I think anything over than that would just be too much for my frame. I think it just depends on your body type.
