I didn't weigh myself for awhile into my weight loss journey. I was to afraid and since I knew I had to be over the 200 mark I was hoping to get past it before I even started to weigh.
I started to keep track once my clothes felt significantly looser, I was still in the 200's but it didn't discourage me as much as I think it would have if I hadn't already started feeling better by loosing some.
Now I weigh myself once a week and look forward to it.
Avoiding scales and mirrors got me into trouble in the first place.
My scale is an accountability tool - nothing more.
During my journey, I've weighted daily and kept that number in a spreadsheet. While the scale can fluctuate daily, I look at overall trends.
And, I bet you could guess the results. When I stayed OP, my weight trended down.
I'm one of the few that actually looks forward to my weighdays...
I guess it's because I've been doing pretty well staying OP, and so I figure at least I won't have gained. So far though, every week that number has dropped...and I haven't been disappointed. It definitely is an accountability tool...and I think it's way useful.
Like people before me have said, once you're into the plus size clothing it takes a lot more to drop a size. I've lost over 30 lbs, and I still haven't gone down one size. My clothes are definitely looser...but I still don't fit my 18 jeans...
Yeah, it's something that will come with time...but I guess I use the scale as instant gratification for my efforts. It's like a reward in its own...seeing that number go down.
