I know!!!! I just discovered 4 more baby bell pepper plants. They're SO cute, their heads are buried in the soil so the stem is an upside down U and when the leaves have developed they poke through the soil. It's so elegant. I have WAY too many basil plants. I might have to weed them out because I don't think 20 seedlings in one pot would be too healthy. Le sigh.

Yeah, I know how you feel. How many times have I gone on and on about getting my paper done? Only took me 4 months . I really hope it doesn't get rejected. I just want it out of my hair so I can move on to the other one.
I'll send good thoughts (and a hug) your way for that paragraph!

I did get some exercise in though. Hubby and I took the subway and because of how far it is from our apartment and from the festival, we ended up walking 1.5 miles each way.
I'll be eating really light the next two days - I saw 279 flicker on the scale this morning and I'm hoping it will stay (or get back!) to that number by Tuesday's weigh in.
Echo, good luck on your paragraph!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Oooh, I want to go to a restaurant festival tooooo!! I want to eat everything in sight. Everything that's delicious and fatty. This is self-sabotage rearing its ugly head. I haven't been this low since 2001. Yup. Maybe my body's going "uh oh" and sending me these weird signals. Ok, definitely not caving in to any weird food purchase cravings tomorrow.
Oh and Echo, thanks for the support with my paper. That really made me feel good.

Yeah, me toooo!!! Did you ever go to school with chicks who were like that?? Ate fries and chips and all sorts of junk and yet managed to stay thinner than my little finger? Ugh, that would make me SOO mad. I even tried it - eating junk whenever I wanted how much I wanted - it totally backfired and I ended up gaining a lot of weight. Life's not fair.
I am SO happy to finish this stupid MS. Finished sizing the images today and checking the resolution, now just proofing and making sure silly typos are gone. I've got my fingers crossed. It's um already been rejected twice, but I've added a lot more of my thesis work to it so I'm hoping third time's the charm.
So you worked on stem cells, huh? Your project was definitely a bear! I went to a few seminars of people who were doing/discovering novel properties of stem cells and they showed all this amazing data but invariably ended with "um, these cells are really finicky. Others have shown protein X, but we can't find it and we've found protein Y." I always felt bad for them, they looked so tired. Haha.

Hey Ladies! thanks for the turkey day wishes.. lol I will be going to my mom and dads for Thanksgiving dinner this evening.
I am offically on vacation.. lol I do not go back to work until Thursday of next week.. soooo need the time away! lol It is going to be a busy week but thats okay... lol Yesterday was an amazing day, I spent the afternoon at a book launch for a childrens book that I can proudly say was written by the first kids I ever babysat when I was 12 till I grew up and left home... they are all grown now, in thier 20's and have families of their own. It is a family affair.. the oldest son wrote, sang and recorded a childrens song to go with the book, his wife wrote the book and the 2 girls of the family, one of them illustrated it and the other accompanied with the music. I was so proud! These guys were always in a special place in my heart and I am so so happy for them! (pics n video on my facebook page.. lol) I finished yesterday by going out to supper with some friends which was a nice end to a great day!
Today I am heading out the door by 9 to drive an hour and a half to watch my nephew play 2 AAA hockey games today, and then will go to my parents on the way home for TURKEY! lol Tomorrow will be a cleaning day and then I will be going back to my parents to spend some much needed time with them, and Wednesday it is a shopping day out of town .. well it is the day I have to go for my Catscan (b/c of my inner left ear) but since we have to go into the city for it.. it is a great excuse for a shopping day lol
I have to admit I havent been tracing the past two days but have been very conscious.. I may not have made greatest choices everytime,.. but I made the healthiest choices for what I had to choose from and definately watched the portion control (except for the 10oz steak i had when i was out for supper) but I didnt even make my calories yesterday, as I was so much on the go.. so I did not stress on the steak lol
Okay so I think I am done rambling on n on here.. lol I am glad to hear you all are doing well!

Hey, everyone - first post in this thread - trying accountibility.
Weighed in at 153.5 this morning, only down .5 this week, but starting TOM - hoping to be down 2 by the end of the week.
I'm calorie counting, aiming for 1200/day. Had 1280 yesterday. I wanted to do some cardio in addition to the 1-hour sculpting class I took, but ended up cleaning house instead.
Goals for today: 40 minutes cardio, stick to 1200 calories, shop for more protein-based food, veggies, and fruit for next week.

I'm holding myself accountable for sure today. last night was my first saturday night out in a very very long time. I drank, ALOT. so my calories were around 1700 for the day yesterday. (which I cant beat myself up about too much because on Friday I only had 900 calories)
Today I ate an ENTIRE HONEYDEW MELON instead of an entire mini-haagen daas. That's gotta be like, what? 8 servings of fruit for the day? :P
Tomorrow is my first day back at work after a week off. I used that entire week to get myself mentally past the plateau I hit at the beginning of the summer and somehow i got past it on the scale too. I think I have gotten myself well enough in my habits that they wont suffer when I go back to work tomorrow.
Good luck today and in the upcoming week everyone!

I did 5 miles! I did 5 miles today! I did it! I did it! I ran down a 1/4 long hill that was 100ft elevation and marched back up. I'm talking wind in my hair, tears in my eyes, long stride running! I did this 15 times instead of just jogging home like normal at the end of my route. Run down a block, march up and over to the next block, run down, march up and over, etc. My legs don't hurt. I did it in an hour. I'm so happy, I am just so so so so so happy to be able to run again. I must have looked like an idiot with that smile on my face.
There were 4 blocks where people actually started cheering for me when I would pass them on my way back up the other side of the block (its no small hill). I am going to make sure to include those blocks first on days when my motivation is low. All those people cheering and waving (none of them know english, so it was confusing at first, I thought they were telling me a car was going to hit me :P ) was the best compliment ever.
I love today.
Its everything I've got to not run outside and do it all over again but I'm not stupid, I know I have to stretch so I dont end up stuck inside again like last week.

me again! lol
Today was my weigh in, and i had a 1.1 lb loss! i know it doesnt sound much, but considering the week i had, im happy !
so all that calorie counting and calculations paid off lol. i am especially pleased, because i was nervous i would either gain or not lose anything at all, cause i've been quite sick this week, with a painful sorethroat, and so i wasnt able to work out as hard as i would have normally. so i'm very happy with 1 lb loss
even yesterday my scale hadn't budged, so yesterday i was beginning to doubt myself, but still kept pushing onwards... it was only today that it finally moved!!
total calorie deficient this week (6 days) from both foodwise and exercise was 6619 calories =so a predicted mathematical loss of 1.89 lbs loss and in reality, i saw a 1.1lb loss
i'm also very happy, that my BMI is now 25!!! yippeee and i broke through the 160 barrier!! albeit just slightly ! lol by 0.2 lol but im taking it hahahah.
now i just have to maintain it this week and keep going!
taking the day off tommorow , to run a couple of errands and treat myself to a cinema trip, havent been for ages!!
so looking forward to that. and now i have even more reason to treat myself , i had said to myself when i reach a bmi of 25 i would treat myself so gonna go and watch a movie :-)
have a good day tommorow everyone !
