Default New scale problems

My old digital scale broke. It cracked down the middle from my 3 year old constantly jumping on it. So I got a new dial scale, and it is now reading 260 lbs. My old scale weighted me in at 240-something.

Shoudl I just go by the new weight? Are dial scales normally higher weight?

I know dial scales can be off but 20 lbs is a bit much. It might be broken. Have you checked to make sure it's zero when you aren't on it?
Maybe you could put a weight on it of some sort, either one you work out with or maybe a bag of potatoes... something you know the weight of for sure. Then see if the dial scale is accurate with that.
