Default Wasn't going to weigh in just yet but WOW

Today marks the 3rd day of eating really healthy, no soda, and exercising on my treadmill. I wasn't going to weigh in until my week mark but I felt compelled to just weigh in for kicks. Well, I did and I lost 3 lbs! I assume when you first start off, the pounds come off pretty fast.

Congratulations!!! That should inspire you to continue... I´m new, but i´ve heard the loss rate slows down later, so celebrate (healthy of course) your 3 lbs, but don´t feel discouraged if it slows down later..

Thanks, I didn't think I could lose 3 lbs in such a short time but I guess it is possible when I think about it. I have completely changed my eating habits and cut out soda, I use to drink almost a 2 liter a day. So, I guess losing 3 lbs was the result of all the change. Plus I am exercising 30 minutes a day when I use to do nothing at all.

Now, just keep going, keep on working it. Continue on with those new habits and behaviors so that they become your new way of life, your new "normal". And you will be rewarded with many more wonderful weigh-ins and a lifetime of good fitness and health and all the incredulous benefits that come along with it.

Awesome! Also, please remember that the scale might not move anymore this week...3 Pounds is great, that might be all your body is willing to give up for a little while. AND...please don't take the loss as a ticket to ride. I've seen it a 100 times before, a little peek on the scale becomes the reason for a major upset in the eating department. Keep on trucking and congrats!

The scale is great and it's a great tool to use to kinda judge how we're doing. But it's not perfect, it's not constant and steady. It's fickle.

The most important thing for you to focus on right now - is getting those new behaviors down pat. Get a good plan in place. Tweak it. Make it your own. Form strategies and coping skills to get you through. Make those new habits - habits. Because once you've got those habits in place - the scale WILL drop. We just don't know when and at what pace. So, work on and focus on getting your eating in check- and the weight loss will follow.

Congrats! But as others warn, don't be disappointed if it doesn't continue. You probably flushed some water... just as it's hard to gain 3 pounds of fat in 3 days, it's hard to lose it too. The most important thing is to keep engaging in the new behaviors (to echo Robin).

It was probably just water but if it was 3 lbs of water lost, I am okay with that That is just 3 lbs less I see on the scale.
