What is your definition of a plateau? Like - 0 - loss while staying 100% on plan? A plateau means different things to different people. A good friend of mine claims she is on a plateau while staying on plan 80% and overeating the other 20% of the time. IMO that is maintaince. I think how you handle it really depends on the situation.

You can try here - http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

They give you a zig zag weekly cycle.

Do you exercise a lot? When I plateaued, I actually had to increase my calories 200-300 more a day, and after that I started losing again.

Cool Very Helpful thank you!!!

I am counting cals to a tee and not a pound for almost 3 weeks. Oy Fat count is usually between 19 to 30. The thing is I am normally a very bad eater by nature. Probably the reason I have a weight prob I know. I skip breakfast and lunch and have coffee instead. Then I eat dinner. Since I have been doing this for so long I think my materialism is messed up badly. Anyways so now I eat many time a day and count cals. I used fitday to tell me how much I should be eating each day and lost 8 lbs easily. After that...nothing. I walk for exercise and still nothing. Has anyone done the zig zag thing with success? Let me know and Thanks so much girls!!!

Just so you know, plateaus can be a normal part of weight loss- - doesn't necessarily mean you're doing anything wrong.

Heather is right. P.S. I don't zig zag.

I....am probably having trouble with this too. Are attempting to do zigzagging but, I wonder on which aspect.

If I may hijack, consider I'm changing my amount of exercises. Should I keep the other factors just as planned? Or should I also change them? Or when I zigzagging, I'm changing it all like, "HA! ADAPT TO THAT YOU BODY!"

I think changing your exercise is recommended for plateaus, so go for it.

i think zig zaggin works awesome. but you can also cut back on your exercise and you will get the same effect. seems contradictory to the cause...but it works.
