Default weight "gain" & number of days for excess sodium to leave ur system?

Hey guys!

I did check in advance before popping this question on the forum

How many days need to pass before the excess sodium gets out of your system (and you have a better idea then how much you weigh on the scale)? One, two, three days?

A friend of mine asked and I couldn't really answer, except I know you retain excess sodium for at least a day afterwards, lol

In my experience, it seems to stay with me for around 3 days. That's with drinking extra water too. ugh

Normally 3 days for me here, but if I add some lemon juice to my water it seems to go away faster - a day and a half or so. (a great tip from another poster here!)

Default This works for me

Hi,

I have been using this mix that I read in an article about Jillian Michaels. I have tried it and it does work.

Jillian Michaels recipe for losing 5 pounds in 7 days...

Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water...
Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice...
Add 3 dandelion root tea bag and...
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

This recipe works because it helps flush out excess water weight you have carrying around in your body and... You could lose more than 5 pounds in 7 days depending on how much excess water weight you're carrying around and here's... I hope this helps.

This is a great question, I've been wondering it myself. Does anyone know specifically why lemon juice helps this? And I assume that it has to be real lemon juice, not the fake stuff, right?

Would you drink this once a day or all day long or how would that work?

hmmm... why the rush to flush out excess water weight? Isn't the goal to lose fat and won't the water come back a few days later?

I get excess water weight around my time of the month.. I use the lemon water to minimize it and help get rid of it faster. Yes, the goal is to lose fat, but I hate the tight feeling of water retention! Plus, the scale AND the tape measure are not my friend with water retention going on that week.

Ah, I see. I guess I just figure if it's gonna go away then I don't personally worry about it... Thanks for explaining.

I think just chugging water is the best way to go. I drink a 33 oz bottle in the am, another 1 or 2 33 oz waters at work, and then 3 before I go to bed. yeah, that's 165 oz a day at least! the key is not chugging it all at one time, or else your body won't process it properly, and it overworks your kidneys and liver and takes away electrolytes that you need, etc. But it's obviously a guarantee that any excess water is flushed out by the next morning. I am NEVER bloated.

Or when you have some alchohol or sodium and you're waiting for it to go away. I had salty foods and alchohol over the weekend and I'm still trying to drink enough water to get it to go away.
