Default Which On Is Worse?

I've heard many people say they are avoiding artificial sweeteners. I've heard many other people say that they are avoiding sugar and HFCS.

I had a dilemma in the dairy aisle today. I was buying yogurt and couldn't decide what to buy because some have HFCS (or some other fructose) and the ones that don't have artificial sweeteners (like aspartame) and I just couldn't decide! I know I can always buy plain and sweeten it myself with honey or maple syrup and put my own fruit in but honestly I'm just looking for the convenience factor here, something I can throw in the fridge at work and eat in the 30 seconds I have between rounds.

Which one do you think is worse?

ETA: as I sit here I'm eating the Breyers Light Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, it's very tasty but I can taste a little of that "fake sweetener aftertaste"

Well soy/coconut milk yogurts tend to have better ingredients but personally...

Buy a bunch of 1 cup tupperwares. I like snapware products. Buy frozen berries. Buy large container of yogurt (I buy the soy plan unsweetened). Create your own 1 cup servings with the berries and plain yogurt. Grab on way to work and throw in fridge.

I don't do either but chemical-wise I think aspartame is worst with HFCS running a very close second. Sugar is fattening, but fairly benign, in comparison.

Umm pretty much until at least the 'sell by' date on the original large container. I usually dish out a couple days in advanced when I keep them but I'll keep the original container with yogurt in it and it seems like the date is about a month out from when I purchased it.

I used to do it with regular yogurt before I gave up dairy and now with soy yogurt. Never had any issue. Also the tupperwares are pretty secure.

i would go with artificial first but if you ever need to add one to something the best artificial sweetner is truvia!

I think the sell by date is only relevant unopened. I don't think it has anything to do with how long it will keep after opening.

Yeah not sure but its a large container and I usually use 1 large container in a week although it has gone beyond that and even up to the date on the container with no issue.

Mehh...you are eating alot of other stuff too in an average day.
I don't think the tiny amount of articifical sweetner OR HFCS will do any harm. I'd go for the best-tasting, low-fat one that fit into my eating plan. I have other, more pressing things to worry about in my diet than the 0.2 mg of aspartame!!!

Artificial sweeteners.
That is only because I am allergic to apartame. I'll take anything with splenda in it though. I tend to have fits in the yogurt aisle due to my allergy. Anything "light" is bad for me.

Look for Stonyfield Farm yogurts. Most of theirs are organic with no hfcs or artificial anything and are mostly sweetened with fruits and honey. I love the non-fat French vanilla and I add frozen mixed berries (both of which I get at Walmart). I think most yogurts are good for about 7-10 days after opening the container if you get a large container and add your own fruits.

Daimere - Never knew that! We're artificial-sweetener-sensitivity twins! Worst for me was when Dannon changed the Light N Fit brand to have BOTH aspartame and splenda...grrrr.
