Default OMG-I got called "too tiny"!!!

OK, so it happened at Lane Bryant. I DON'T CARE!!! I saw a dress in the catalog I wanted to try, but the smallest they had was a 16. The lady helping me said they didn't have a 14, but she didn't think it would do any good anyway b/c she was a 14/16 and that, "You are just TOO TINY." She had that look on her face like we normally get a Victoria's Secret off some skinny little *****. Although, she was actually nice about it.

I danced through the rest of my day shopping. Maybe I should change my screen name to "TOO TINY". JK!!

Isn't that incredible! I kind of hated that at Lane Bryant when that happened to me too, cause I just loved their underwear and can't find any I like as much since.

Oh I know exactly how you feel. What a divine feeling, eh?
I was called tiny myself, too, when I was buying size 4 skirt (at Laura, a Canadian chain). I got a double compliment because the sales lady looked at me and shrieked "You are so tall and so tiny!" I was on cloud 9 the entire week.

Congrats!

Thanks y'all for the encouragement. Kinda helps extend the feeling.

I understand about the dread Annie. I just bought a bunch of underwear there and some of the panties are a bit big, but, I'm getting my basement fixed up so hopefully my sewing machine will be running here soon. I also kinda like being able to just go to two stores (LB and Torrid) to do my shopping.

Yesterday, we were at the mall and went to several stores looking for shoes for DD. Now, I am fitting into clothes at Dillard's and Penneys. I had to explain to DD that stores like that do serve us middle aged, chunkies with credit cards, so they have clothes that go above 12. She still thinks it sucks cause all the clothes are for middle aged women.

Well, Tomato, I don't really have to worry about being called "tall" at 5'2". Maybe I'll have to go visit my sister and niece. They are 4'11" and 4'10" respectively. I tower over them. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, at my niece's wedding we were up at the alter for a post-wedding family photo. I had on heels and my hair was in an updo. The photographer kept asking the "tall one" to come down a step. Finally, he shouts "Hey you, in the maroon dress, would you take a step down. You're too tall for the others around you." I was just like, "Who me? Tall? Ya joking, right?" I was lording it over the rest of my family the entire week.

The best thing about being called tiny is that my DD was there when it happened. She is really taking an interest in getting into shape now. It's been difficult trying to get her to take it seriously without saying or doing something to set off body image issues. She's 15 and I sure don't want to have her thinking my love is based on her weight. It's great that I can lead by example, but I still have to make sure she doesn't think I value myself more now that I'm lighter. It's a bit of a perilous balancing act.
