Default silly things we do to try to lose weight

I was telling a friend about how embarrassed I was about going to a hypnotist to help me with food cravings. Now in and of itself, it wasn't so off the wall, but the hypnotherapist had this weight problem himself, and in fact kept telling me that nothing he did seemed to help his urges to eat.....and spent most of the sessions I paid for trying to get me to help him with his diet, since he was recently diagnosed with diabetes and was really struggling...
wow as I write this my embarrassment and laughter are spilling over again.
what crazy and embarrassing weight loss methods have others tried.????

Looks like you missed an opportunity to set up a weight loss consulting practice! Too bad the hypnotism didn't help, though.

I have tried pinching my ear as a substitute for ear stapling to see if that helped hunger pangs. My verdict: I ended up with hunger pangs *and* a sore ear, lol. Better choice: a cup of hot tea .

I don't know if any of you have heard of the "Super Dieters Tea" but I tried that and paid dearly for it! I couldn't make it to work one day because of so many trips to the bathroom. (TMI alert!) In fact, I had to go home to change clothes because I couldn't make it too a gas station rest room in time! PLUS it gave me horrible stomache pains. Smart. Right?

I did two stupid things in the pursuit of skinniness -

I bought an Ab-Doer off of an infomercial... Anyone remember the Ab-Doer? It looked like a chair - four legs, a seat, a rounded back at about shoulder blade height with arms that extended under your arms and had hand grips. The back was connected to the seat with a spring and you were supposed to swing back and forth, up and down, front to back, side to side, etc... It was supposed to really tone and flatten those abs...

I also ate nothing but grapefruit and drank grapefruit juice for three straight weeks once before a wedding I was in...

OK, lots of us have funny stories, don't know if the bathroom problems with the dieters tea are funny or not, but in retrospect, I guess so.
Thanks for boost, and making this thread fun!

Well , going back quite a way...anyone else try the cabbage soup diet. You made it and ate nothing else. It didn't taste bad, but about day two you got a big, I mean BIG suprise. That soup worked, you lost about five pounds the next two days. Of course you couldn't get out of the bathroom, and by the time you did you were to weak to do much else....
Guess we're all pretty silly looking for a quick fix, for a long time problem.
