Question Allowed cheats?

Does your plan allow cheats at some point? Like one per week?
I'm not sure how to apply these, on one side I'd like a cheat (I've been 44 days without one) but on the other I feel terribly guilty for having one, lol, someone please tell me one cheat doesn't do damage and is ok!

I think the reason you feel guilty about it is that you are calling it a "cheat"! Instead, try calling it a "planned treat" or something like that.

In my case, I allow one off-the-record meal a week, but I don't always exercise that option (I do have one most weeks since we usually do *something* over the weekend, but I don't go out of my way if we happen to stay home).

I also incorporate one 80 calorie Reece's PB cup into my plan every day.

I feel incorporating these treats into my plan makes a world of difference in my outlook and I can see this are being the basis of my permanent lifestyle instead of a temporary diet.

I agree! Who would you be "cheating"? That seems to me like the wrong way to look at things.

If you're following a program where certain foods are not allowed for some period of time, then you should not stray from that program. That is called going off your program...

If you're calorie counting or points counting, then you have to count whatever food it is that you are considering a "cheat" food. It's like anything else you eat.

One planned treat meal a week is not going to substantially delay your weight loss. Just make sure it really is only ONE a week and that you don't go too overboard (ie, just make it a bit more indulgent than your normal diet - a few hundred calories extra)

No way, I never call anything a "cheat"! This is my life, this is how I eat now, and of course that means some foods will be healthier than others, that's just how it is. I write everything down, from the good choices to the bad, and I know that the days I choose to eat two brownies and not go for a run are days I'm not going to lose any weight. Fortunately those days are very rare, since I want to be losing weight, but still, I never feel bad about them or tell myself I'm "cheating" or that I "screwed up". What good does that do, really?
