I have a water question

If I've gone from drinking 3-4 glasses of water each day to drinking 9 every day is it possible I'll hold on to a bit of water for a week or so...or maybe feel a little more bloated than usual?

I know when I first upped my water intake I was at the bathroom every 10 minutes. It was driving me crazy, but within a week I was fine. I noticed a difference of going to the bathroom like day 2!

I'd guess you'd feel a bit bloated for a day or so- but if it persists after a week I'd take a look at how much sodium you are consuming.

Anything is possible...sometimes our bodies go strange when we change things up. I usually give it a week or two to settle down.

I dropped off dramatically on my water in the last month or so and just kicked it back up into high gear, I was getting 32 ounces or so per day up until last week, am back up to the 96-120 ounces this week. I also have felt more bloated this week, but it is finally starting to settle back down.

Oh definitely, at least for me. I used to drink maybe 1/2 glass of water a day. That's it. Everything else was mostly soda, some juice, and a slash of milk. Well, when I started drinking only water, with my one cup of coffee and tea, I felt like a pregnant woman for 3 days, and looked like one too. After that though, I actually looked a bit thinner so I'm guessing once my body adjusted, it let go of some extra water as well.

It's been about a week for me. I'm feeling bloated and I weigh more. I definitely go the bathroom a lot but that is to be expected, I was already going all the time. One day at the gym I had to go 7 times!! People probably think I'm crazy walking into the bathroom every 5 minutes. I don't think my sodium intake is too high. I make just about all my food (eggs, whole grains, vegetables, butter, kefir, meats, etc) so I think it's fine.

My office has a security camera system at the opposite end of the hall, and the bathroom is right across from my office. The camera points down the hall towards us. I always wonder if the manager downstairs is watching me walk back and forth across the hall from my office to the potty 48 times per day and wondering what the heck I'm doing in there so much!

I started drinking much more water today and I have went to the bathroom like 9 times today! It's like I feel like I have to go then I find out I really don't. I think my body digesting the extra water is tricking my brain.

Anytime you start something new, there's a period of adjustment.

Great job in deciding to drink more water! In the long run, it'll be beneficial for you! :)

I've increased my water intake since moving to a warmer climate. It took about a month to settle down. Now my body knows when it hasn't had enough water to drink.

I agree, sometimes you have to let your body adjust. I just started drinking more than I usually do...(i'm so bad at drinking water) and I've been running to the bathroom a lot. However, next week it won't be as bad and etc. Once your body adjusts you'll see things differently.
