Question Nothing serious...just wanna know...

When o' when do you start losing weight in the arms? I was just thinking about how everyone is so excited about losing a pants size, but I have fat arms and I just wanna know when you start to see a difference in a shirt size-arm wise?

Default arms...

Everybody loses weight in different places, so it really just depends. I feel you though - arms are a trouble zone for me, too. I have found that cardio and strength training has helped me get more toned and I'm starting to see definition. There's hope

Unfortunetly, it took me a while. I didn't see any real different until probably 40lbs down. And to be honest, I didn't want toning, I wanted de-fatting. Haha.

Keep up the good work. You'll have slim arms in no time if you stay with it.

What we lose, in what order, is really up to our bodies, and we have very little control. Unfortunately!

But the good news is that if you keep going, you'll EVENTUALLY get where you want to get with ALL of your problem areas. Just maybe not in the order you prefer.

If it is any comfort, you are not alone. I could wear at least one size smaller shirt if my arms were not so big. I wish we could program our bodies to remove the fat according to our instructions!

Last time I got down under 200 lbs/size 14/16 I did lose weight in my arms but proportionately they were still very large. I remember trying on this really cute Laura Ashley tennis dress (long, like a floor-length polo shirtdress) and it was SO CUTE and very flattering ~ except for my dern arms! The little sleeves on that thing were cutting off my circulation and looked horrible!

I have truly enormous arms. I am spending 2 days a week at the gym doing upper body building (free weights, some machines) because dernit if I'm still going to have big arms they are going to be big muscular arms not big flabby arms. It's working...

I too fret about my arms. I am starting to see some muscle definition in them and they are smaller, 2" smaller. I do weight training 3x a week and it is working.

You should measure them now so you can see the progress! I didn't and am kind of sad...

Like everyone else is saying, it all depends on you, everyone's different. For me, I still haven't lost anything in the arms, really. I've lost 80 pounds, but only 2 inches in my arms (which accounts to a hill of beans when your arms are as fat as mine).

My sister swears my arms are smaller than they used to be, and I suppose she's right, but I still can't see it. I have lots of adorable tops that would look great if my arms weren't so disproportionate. I can wear a medium now on top, but my arms won't fit into some medium shirts. It's really annoying, but I have lost inches and I weight train, so I have lots of muscle tone hiding under the bat wings!

A lot of where we lose depends on our individual bodies. I'm doing strength training to try to tone my arms, so that when I do lose fat, hopefully the sagging skin won't be too much of a problem. At least that is my hope.

I am with you Dev. And I just want to say that I see a lot of people with weight issues. Why do a lot of them not have flabby arms? I hate my arms more than anything else. They look so flappy and turkey leggish. *pouts*

I know chicadee!! I don't get it at all! Believe me, I can do any arm exercise you hit me with, but until I get the fat off, it doesn't matter. Thats why I am focusing on cardio right now and then I will add strength back in. Before I would be "gung ho" on the exercise and I ate garbage, so now I have all of this muscle underneath fat--UGH--so I am trying a different approach this time...cardio and eating plan down first, then add other stuff..
