Default Happy New Years!

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Years I did!

I haven't been online in a while. Been doing some moving, traveling and wandering. Bought a Harley for myself and been teaching myself to ride. Havin a ball! Can't wait for it to warm up!

Kinda went off the diet for the holidays but I am back on track again.

Thumbs up Happy New Year

And Happy New Year to you flatiron and all the other men who wander upon this thread.

The thought of a Harley gets my juices flowing. I always thought I'd own one by now to get past my mid-life crisis, but it just hasn't happened. Do you have long trips in mind - like a cross-country to San Francisco to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge?

Welcome to the men's thread, where we occasionally grunt toward one another, but, in my experience, have never engaged in monastic conversations.

I'm father of two also - two that have left the nest.

What eating and exercise plans are you working?

.
Don't worry about the grunting, have a hubby and 2 boys, and live on a farm. I can do noisy bodily functions with the best of them. Lol.

WW is my eating plan choice

As far as exercise, I work for a veterinarian, so I have a very physically demanding job. So, up to now, I've just indulged in quiet walks around the farm.

With the new year, I'm going to rejoin the local community center/gym, so I can use the ellipitical and start lifting weights again.

If I have a membership I do go. And I do enjoy it. I'm curious to see how much weight I can lift, since I can dead lift a 70lb dog from the floor to the exam table.

Good luck all you guys, have a loser new year!

Welcome Tucker,

Here is my thread where I update with what I am doing and has my "plan" or whatever you want to call it.

Time for a change (story, and ongoing tracker)

Us guys have a lot of advantages in this weight loss thing. TBH I think a huge part of it (at least for me) is just to sack up and do it

Default Awesome

Thanks for posting your journey thus far. Our stories are about the same. I started yesterday, I am 6'2 around 310, lost 50 lbs last year on fat smash. I ahve to get my a$$ to the gym, walked some stairs yesterday but need to get in a workout routine. Have a 3 1/2 year old daughter at home I have to get healthy for!! Did pretty good yesterday 5 small snakcs meals and no beer or caffenie. So far so good!!!! Had plain oatmeal, so pistashios and a fruit/veggie salad for lunch. I am going to workout after work. Your blog really has helped!!!! Congrats thus far and you even did damn good during holidays!!!

Thanks Tucker

Nice! Don't try to do too much at once or starve yourself. I've just decided to always eat when I'm hungry, otherwise I binge way too much. Only real difference is that I try to stick something healthy into my mouth instead of something bad.

Us guys tend to be problem solvers (or so my wife always complains and I recently decided to try to approach this process like that. So instead of letting life happen to me in regards to eating/exercise I try to think more in advance about it.

My challenge for today... I have to leave for the airport at 3pm, and won't get to my hotel in NYC until around 11pm. Need to figure out where, what, and how I will eat over that 8 hour period. I haven't figured it out yet, 2 more hours to make a plan (and pack haha)
