Disgruntled one, I run three miles every morning and would dare to say I am somewhat athletic. On top of that, I have an (almost) large frame. I do not think I will reach the 130's but reaching a healthy place on the BMI chart (under 25) is very doable.
24, according to Fitday. RealAge made me vewy vewy angwy yesterday--my 'age' is higher than it could be in part because I 'need to lose weight'--even though it put me at 24.5. What?? That's 'normal' weight according to BMI. RealAge can kiss my dancing carrot. I am not happy with RealAge right now. *goes off to sulk*
I had no idea what my BMI was until I saw this thread and googled a BMI calculator. I just knew that my doctor informed me that I was "obese" and left me sitting on the examination table... drooling on myself in shock.
Mine is 30.2 right now. I'm still obese The good news is I only have 2 pounds to go to be "overweight" and 34 pounds to be normal. I doubt I'll ever be normal. I've never been able to maintain that weigh for more than a few days/weeks. Well just see how it goes when I enter into maintenance at 175. It's actually quite scary for me to even think about.
Oh my starting BMI was 52.1 (Super-morbidly-obese)
At the end of November, my BMI was 24.9 which is actually kinda funny because I don't have much extra fat to lose. But, BMI as such does not concern me because it does not take into account the percentage of body fat or the percentage of lean body mass; it is stricly a weight/height ratio.
It should a bit lower now as I dropped a few pounds in December.
I'm with Tomato. BMI does not concern me either. My body fat percentage is about 14%. Part of me would love to see the 140s (I range 152-155 and I am 5'8"), but where would I lose 3-7 pounds from? I don't want to give up muscle mass and I'm not sure I can get my body fat percentage any lower. Weight, in and of itself, is just a number and the BMI is limited by only comparing height and weight. Body fat % is a far more meaningful number, in my opinion.
29.7 down from 45.3...BMI is annoying to me because I have a lot of muscle...which means I'm smaller inch wise....but it's been a struggle to stay in the overweight category. Normal means I would have to get down to 145. I'll be happy if I can stay out of obese.
