Weight Loss Question--sudden Drop??

Ladies,

Like so many of you we had inclimate weather this week and I missed two days of running. Well, on Tuesday morning I went down two pounds. Yahoo, right? Wednesday morning, another pound! YAHOO! This morning, ANOTHER pound! OMG! My weight loss had really slowed. Now, this? What gives? Any ideas when I missed two work out days this week? My calorie intake has remained steady around 1500.

Oh geez, you're tempting me

Sorry, I'll try to be serious now :) A lot of people have seen this happen. I'm not sure if it works as an intentional strategy, but if for whatever reason, you have an enforced break, it seems to help some people. But I would think the key is "small" break.

Congratulations! That is a really exciting week :)

Well, it could be that your exercise was pushing your calorie deficit too far--but I would not make any conclusions about it one way or another. It happens--no loss for X amount of time, then bam, a big drop. Just keep on keeping on. :cheer2:

I too feel taxed for lack of exercise today and yesterday. Wish me and my scale luck ;)
-jokin'... gotta find time later today or FOR SURE tomorrow.

I think it was based on all your hard work, not the momentary lapse in exercise. Keep it up and your scale will continue to be kind.

:):):)

Thanks everyone. I was so surprised morning after morning. I always stress just a little before weighing but I must do it. I think all you are right. It probably has more to do with me sticking to plan (mostly) for a long period of time than skipping workouts. I ran today! :)

Yeah, I think it's just one of those weird things that our bodies do. It's possible that your body just was going through a cycle. It's possible that maybe taking a break triggered something. Or, it's possible that it's just a fluke.

Gotta love how regular and scientific this process is, huh?
