Mouth is dry!

all of a sudden since Sunday, my mouth has been dry and I really dont know why! I do drink water, infact more than before, which is all good and part of my diet plan.

But still its a little... unusual. What have I had before this happened? Last meal was Pasta with pasta sauce and sweetcorn spread with a little bit of mature chedder.... on Sunday evening. Sure, been drinking water instead of fizzy drinks.... and also pure orange juice.

Then I have been having coffee cups also since sunday..... maybe 2/3 a day?

any ideas why? I guess its good in a sense since from what I read drinking water helps to loose some weight and also clenses the blood in your body anyway.

I read a good book all about water, In it it says that when we dont get the amt of water we should have for a long period of time, our natural sense of thirst actually sort of goes away....so once you start drinking the proper amt of water, your thirst signals come alive. I also noticed this big time! so, even tho you are drinking more water, you seem to be more thirsty. Its actually a good sign, because the majority of people have lost their natural sense of thirst. Thirst is a good thing to have because it reminds you to drink your water, when the thirst sense diminishes you tend to think, "well, i'm not thirsty so I must not need the water" when actually you really do need the water. your body is crying out for it :) also, caffein actually causes your kidneys to excrete more water, so the coffee might be causing you to be more thirsty.

Firehawk,

I live in Chicago. Around this season my mouth always gets dry as well, some of it is the weather and indoor heating systems.

I agree with Pandora, I always get really dry in the winter time!

It appears there was more than 24 hours between your last meal and your post. Are you fasting? I would expect your dry mouth to be related to that.
