I wouldn't say there is anything I have totally hands down cut out of my diet but I definitely don't drink soda much anymore if at all (maybe once last month), I don't eat candy/cake/cookies except every so often and I don't eat much fast food anymore, or restaurant food either for that matter. I think that is what has helped me so much in the last 6 weeks!

There isn't really anything I have totally given up....it's either in moderation or I find a healthier way to prepare them!

I'll pretty much eat anything, in moderation of course.
The only foods I have truly given up are, red meat and fried foods. Grease! No way, not anymore.

I don't think I'll give up anything...at least in theory. The funny thing is that the farther down this road I go, the more I find that I have given things up because they don't seem so necessary at the time.

It is very helpful for me to know that nothing is off limits...

Chocolate! Can't go more than a month without the stuff. But I figue 12 times a year is better than a few times a week.

I haven't actually given up anything except regular soda, but if I had to give up all of my favorite comfort foods except one, I would choose pizza. I can NOT live without pizza, and I don't mean the half a$$ed pretend pizza made from low carb tortillas and fat free cheese... I mean deliciously doughy, thick crusted pizza smothered with melted cheese. I would give up everything else (chocolate, ice cream, chips, brownies, cheese curls, cookies, and cake) before I give up hot, greasy pizza.

I haven't given up alcohol, although I have cut back, and pay attention to calories when I can (diet tonic and coke zero cherry for mixers if I drink liquor, which is rare). I love butter, and I can't justify using spreadable plastic just so save a little saturated fat, so I only use it on my toast a few mornings a week, which I also love. I think toast is my favorite food. I also can't give up half and half, which is weird because before i started south beach, I never used it. but the soymilk i was using in my coffee at work is really bad for me (full fat and calories and added sugars and vanilla) so i decided half & half would be good enough..and it has been. I have pretty much given up white potatoes, i eat them maybe once a month, in small portions. I would cry if I was told I would never taste chocolate again, and since i started dieting i've been exploring different varieties of dark and / or flavored bars. my favorite i think is the 88% cacao organic dark chocolate with blackberries inside that I found at World Market.

If pressed, however, I'd have to say that I won't give up cheese of any kind. I eat cheese - the full fat version - every day. Cheddar, blue, havarti, feta, gorgonzola ... any and all cheese is my friend. I never met a cheese I didn't like.

So yeah, if you had to press me for one thing, I'd say I'll never give up cheese.

Oh, and Diet Coke. But that's another issue entirely.

.
YES! Me and cheese have a love and love relationship. I just consume it in moderation that's all

three things i will never give up, just cut back on
1. Pizza - could eat it everyday, and have at certain points of my life, but i try and order healthier types, and work it into my plan now.
2. Cheese - the low fat stuff is just not as good. I use less than i would have before, but will never give it up
3. Chocolate- there are no good substitutes, and i find the less i try and eat the more i crave, so i just work it in every day. the dove mini dark chocolates are my favs

Ditto for me. Cheese is my absolute favorite food in the world...I eat it every day (sometimes full fat, sometimes reduced, sometimes fat free-it just depends). I actually just finished having a snack of some NY extra sharp cheddar and a bosc pear with my BF....

I really dont deprive myself of anything I like. I have never been a sweet eater and not much into french fries or fast food...but I do have pizza at least once a week but just make sure I account for it.
