Thumbs up Down about everything


I am just having one of those days where everything is just getting to me. My mom is on my nerves about everything. I got a really horrible haircut. None of my friends are around to talk. I can't stop crying. No one understands how I feel. I really hate everything about myself except my hair. And now I don't even have that. People keep telling me that there are better things to worry about but they just don't get it. Appearance is very important to me and I feel like I've been ruined. I know this isnt the only reason I'm upset though. It's more deeply rooted than just a bad (really bad) hair cut. If anyone has any comments or bad day stories of their own I'd love to hear them.

Perspective is everything. When you read the newspaper and see the stories about all the suffering in the world, you'll realize how lucky you are -- look at it this way: if you had cancer and were on chemo, you wouldn't even have hair to worry about!

When I have a bad day, a couple of things help. A long walk or hike in the woods is very good for getting my mind back on track. Also, when you focus on others, by helping them or just listening to their stories, it lessens your focus on yourself and your troubles. This board is a great place to help others, read about their problems, and so forth!

I hope you're feeling better soon. Remember, hair grows, tears dry, and God doesn't give you anything more than you can handle.
