Thats -45 pounds. My thinking is that from today til January 1st is 4 months.. (18 weeks). If I lose an average of 2.5 lbs a week, I'll make my goal perfecty..
I mean I know I'll lose more some weeks maybe and most likely less other weeks but I just need an average of 2.5 lbs a week. I've also heard that around 2 lbs a week is the best way to lose weight, so I'm thinking I have a pretty good shot..
What do you all think? Possible, Not Possible, Maybe?? Please respond & let me know!!
That's great as a goal! It is pushing the boundaries. Please don't get discouraged if you happen to lose at a slower rate. Recognize any loss as the true success it is. I'll be pulling for you.
Well-- You asked-- and to be honest, I think it would be hard to lose that much on average every week, unless you're doing something extreme.
I hope that if you give this a shot, you won't be disappointed if you don't get all the way to your goal! After all, it's not a competition except with yourself.
I admire your enthusiasm, but in general I am not a fan of "lose 'x' pounds by 'x' date." I mean, you might and that would be great. But what if you "only" lose 30 pounds? That would still be an awesome feat! I like to set behavior goals rather than pound goals, if that makes sense. The scale tends to follow behavior goals, but we can only have direct control over behaviors and indirect control over the scale. I hope you make your goals and I will be thrilled for you however it turns out! You can definitely be way lighter and fitter by New Years! Good luck!
Just like midwife, I never plan to be XXX pounds by a certain date. But, I do realize we are all different, so if having a specific target number in mind works for you, I have nothing against it.
However, I think that to lose 45 pounds in 4 months is a lot. You would need to lose 11 pounds a month. I am not saying it is not doable, but I think it will be hard. You did not mention how you are planning to lose weight - diet, exercise, or combination of both?
It's great to be excited and dedicated. Do the best you can, but you're human, so give yourself a break if there are some bumps in the road. I don't think too many people who have reached their goals have done it without a single setback. Just keep going toward your goal and you'll get there one way or another at some point.
