I've gotten my first *you look thinner* comment today - it's Day Two! Hilarious. It almost certainly wasn't flattery because it was made by my boyfriend's former at-grocery-store colleague who is sweet but VERY blunt, e.g she said to her colleague Ben, *you have big belly!*. She is from Vietnam, cultural thing?

Anyway, you can rely on her for her honesty, there have been several such occasions lol, but she sees me most days so to hear her say that was very excellent! And funny.

That is funny EMILY! A good friend of mine that I work with and have known for 40+ years married a gal from Viet Nam when he was over there...you are right about "telling it like it is" she isn't afraid to hurt anyone's feelings! It got a little nasty at parties until we all figured her out!

I think it's definitely a cultural thing. But isn't it awesome to get that kind of reaction? I love it! :)
