Exclamation Man, do my abs hurt!

Yesterday along with my walking 5,700 steps, I also did 50 sit ups since it had been to hot to meet my 7,000 step goal. And boy! did those sit ups kill me!

Even worse today.. my abs hurt so bad moving is terrible.

No pain, no gain, though, right?

keep on truckin', but allow yourself a little rest.

Good for you. Now you know to take a break and let those abs heal, right?

I did 40 squats and 80 lunges today (40 each side) and I can feel it in my thighs. I know I'm gonna be a bit sore tomorrow, but it's a good sore!!!

Whoda ever thought I'd feel this way, huh?

Tell me this: Did you go from zero situps to doing 50 situps?

If yes, my gosh, you don't have to do it that way.

Tell ya what, try working up slowly. 20 situps is plenty, maybe even fewer! Don't do them every day at first. Every other day is fine, but especially if your muscles are still in bad pain, don't do more situps.

It's natural to feel sore if you've been working muscles more than they are used to, but a lot of folks overdo things when they start and then give up because it's too hard.

No need to hurt yourself that badly. "No pain no gain" doesn't therefore mean "more pain, more gain."

Jay is right. There's a good kind of muscle soreness ... that kind of sore that says "hey I really pushed myself and I feel good about it". And then there's the "OMG I can't move w/out crying" kind of sore. YOu should never damage your muscles to the extent of the 2nd.

You should always give yourself a rest period after any kind of intense workout to let the muscles heal and regenerate. It's not the workout that builds muscle, it's the recovery period after.
