My New Mantra: "Every bite is a choice."
Yup. That's it.
I've been struggling so much for the past week or so and it's really starting to show--both in my spirit and on the scale. Bleh.
So, that's my new mantra:
Every bite is a choice.
Because sometimes, just stopping RIGHT THEN so it doesn't get too completely out of control has to be enough to HELP.
Every bite is a choice.
Yeah.
Just wanted to share that.

So simple and so true, and a great reminder that just because you started off one way doesn't mean you have to keep going in that path!
Add it to your signature and spread the wisdom.

Thank you for posting that... its a perfect mantra for me right now too. A few months ago I was telling myself that staying OP all day was a choice and that wasn't enough, so I started telling myself that every meal was a choice. This new mantra will really have an impact... if not what's left for me every sniff, whiff or sip is a choice ??? thanks I really needed this...

Exactly! I get so caught up in the spiral that I forget to notice sometimes that it's NOT the end of the world!!

I love it!!
One of the most profound truths I have noticed on this journey is that each one of us owns the power to change. Our bodies simply do what we tell them to do. We have hundreds of choices everyday. We may not always make the best choice at the moment, but the very next moment is a chance to take a step toward health.
I love your mantra!!!

Thank you! And that's exactly it--there are SO many moments during which we can make BETTER choices (even if only *slightly* better, sometimes--it's all about doing a wee bit better than the last moment, right?) and that's what we should embrace, rather than the thought of, "Today has to be a success," or "This week has to be a success," or "This LIFE has to be a success."
No set-ups for failure! Life comes with enough of those as-is, right?

simple yet SO BRILLIANT!!!!
what I say now when there is junk around me "I don't care for that". My colleagues make a little bit of fun of me, but actually, if you say it enough, you tend to believe it!!

I think that is so true! I think this is how new habits are formed, almost the old "fake it til you make it" concept.

I found myself snacking this weekend.... Then it hit me: Every Bite is a Choice. I thought about this for a second, realized I wasn't hungry and that I was eating because I was bored. So I set my snack aside and saved myself about 70 calories!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
