Interesting read. These sorts of things always make me want to see the pictures they use though... I wonder what I would have chosen.

I'd like to see the photos, too. Any study like this could contain inherent biases on the part of the researchers. But I do believe that the results are accurate.

I wonder why they didn't use the standard Figure Rating Scale...this scale is used in tons of body image research.

I went through ScienceDirect and found the original journal article. The article addresses far more concerns than the brief NYT piece lets on.

And here are the images shown to the study participants:

I'm happy to PM the pdf to anyone if you're interested (and don't have access to ScienceDirect), just didn't want to generally throw it up here on the board.
