Default Do you log your food and where?

I am an on and off again logger, but am trying to stay on track and I lost alot of weight before with dietwatch( until they started to make you pay for it).
So anyway, I have used Fitday in the past but now I am trying Daily Plate. What do you do and what works for you?

I have always been and will (for the foreseeable future, even in maintenance) be a FitDay addict. It is nearly automatic for me now, and it makes me accountable every day. I've tried all the other major ones and they overcomplicated things for me...I guess I'm set in my ways now.

Ditto on Fitday. My first Fitday entry is June 9, 2001 and I've never quit.

I'm a pen and paper guru. I have notes I write it on during the day and when I am home at night I write it all down in a journal, along with my exercise activities. And on Thursday's I also record my weight in there. I have notes all over my kitchen where I have added up calories and ingredients. It's like my own personal version of fitday. I prefer to have it hand written because I'm more likely to use it.

I'm a FitDay addict as well, although I own the purchased (downloaded) version, which I know is different from the online version. Logging can be as simple as you want it to be. Try one for a week, and another one for the next week and see how it goes. I suspect it will depend on how many pre-made meals you buy. I do know that some people don't feel that FitDay has enough brand name meals in it. I looked just now and I have lots of custom items added into FitDay, but most are from the beginning (cooking staples that I use that have labels on them).

It's really only important that you log, not how you do it.

I'm an active member, and logger at TheDailyPlate. I've used all of them and found it the easiest. I've been tracking for a year.

The Fitday vs. TDP debate is really personal choice -- i've used both and I think both have their high and low points. For me, Daily Plate wins out because of their HUGE database of foods, but like someone else said, that might not be important to you. Fitday feels a bit simpler to use -- more straightforward, I think.
I have also been a big pen and paper fan...

Calorieking for me now, seems to have more food items then some of the others and I'm on a mac so I could download the program. I go in spurts though I'll admit, watch every calorie for a few weeks - but now I have a list of what I can eat for breakfast and lunch, both are about the same every single day, I keep few options. And I'm giving myself more options for dinner but if I eat carbs for lunch, I don't for dinner. I think I generally know what I'm eating, about 1600 calories a day. But I'm getting ready to do another "spurt" to lose 5 more lbs and that will mean some serious tracking and calorie counting.

FitDay here... I'm used to it now and have never bothered to look at others.

I wouldn't want to lose all my previous data from FitDay just to switch now!

I am a fan of the pen and paper method. I can use it anytime any where and don't have to be online. I have used the online plans and they work well but pen and paper is my choice .

Started with CalorieCount, went to FitDay, and then quickly jumped to DailyPlate. Have been with DailyPlate for a while now and am satisfied.

I joined Weight Watcher's online and log my food there. Since you are paying for the weight watcher's program, it does cost but I like counting points a lot better than calories. The system is also easy to use.
You can't out-exercise poor eating habits.
