Liliann,
I think, and all the stuff I'm about to write is from my own experience of trial and error.
I don't eat sugar anymore. Period. Yes I have had 4 occasions of eating sugar since August 2 but I am getting myself out of a life of misery....it's no cake walk but it is worth the "work" by far.
I had a long list of physical and psychological complaints and consuming sugar is/was responsible for a lot of them. Especially craving and feeling out of control and depression. Sugar drives insulin release as it does blood sugar levels that can make us absolutely crazy, but it's the sugar driving our CHEMISTRY not us as characters. Just read Sugar Blues by William Dufty - brilliant!!!! No one takes this seriously because...well.... great poetry has been made from sugar: "sweet as sugar" and "sugar 'n spice and all things nice"......sugar as I'm sure everyone knows is a multi billion dollar industry and there is sugar everywhere - they even cure tobacco leaves in sugar.
Of course you say I can't live without sugar....because your brain chemistry is addicted and yes - I do believe diabetes is "made" not inherited......you can be vulnerable to it through history but you make your own illness SOMETIMES and this is one of them.
I hope you decide to begin the arduous task of helping yourself. You're worth it.
Good Luck
Ray xo
