Haha, well I never did think any of those yummy foods were 'healthy'-just, you know, tasty. Anyway, your guys' responses do make a great deal of sense. But needless to say, I think junk food is a problem for everyone, certainly in the U.S. It's funny, I hear these same responses from my dad on a daily basis. When I was hospitalized, they told me that my blood pressure was low, anddd, the nutritionist told me that my eating habits were terrible and that I "looked a little underweight." Boy did that give me a laugh! Anyway, yeah, I actually have noticed the effects over the past few years: my hair's become thinner and not as strong, etc. etc. Not to mention, the cuts from my self-injury didn't heal up too well; they left nasty scars.

I guess this goes without saying I'll definitely take you guys's information seriously...I'd like to have nicer, thicker hair and I'd definitely like not to be cold all the time. Wellll, actually, that doesn't both me too much. It comes in handy in the dead-heat of summer, lol.

Sorry my response is so ridiculously short in comparison to your messages....I'm in a bit of a time crunch at the moment.

Thank you :]

Wow, never heard of that one before!

I don;t mean to ask, but are you trying to be underweight? I know all women are shaped differently and have different body composition percentages, but 110 and 5'6 seems a tad bit thin. I'm a little over 110 and 5'3 and I'm really small, smaller than most petite women. In fact, most people call me tiny. I have a friend that's 5'6 and 115 and she's a walking pole. Are you healthy at 110?

I was also wondering the same thing, because I am only an inch taller than you, at 5'7", and I would literally have to cut off a limb to be 110-115.

I know this is personal, but you brought up the self-inflicted wounds, and I see the remark there with your username and avatar, and it makes me wonder if you are trying to hurt yourself in more ways than you might realize-even with your weight.

If you think all calories are created equal, rent the video "Supersize Me" and see what happened to him. The foods you mentioned are fine as an occasional treat once or twice a month, but your calories need to be spent on the healthy foods your body needs to function well.

This is true, because there are PLENTY of thin people who have heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, high blood pressure, and the like. You can eat a reasonable calorie level on a daily basis (so you are not overweight) but still be eating "badly", and be putting yourself at risks for health issues.

I have a lady that works at our clinic...and she is stick thin but very unhealthy She eats nothing but junk food...and she has bad skin, unhealthy looking hair and has some serious health issues...mostly associated with her diet. I think an occasional slice of pizza or wing is fine every now and then...but not daily...its unhealthy.
As for proper weight loss and what you should weight...i really do advise you to seek some counseling...and this is not meant as an attack. But you are 5'6...and wanting to be 110 lbs. That sounds very dangerous. It may be possible but it doesn't sound healthy. also, with the "self-inflicted" wounds, it has me concerned for your welfare. You have obviously had some issues in the past if you have caused harm to yourself. You may very well have a low self image of you if you feel you need to be 110 lbs. I think the weight you are at now is more than adequate. I think what's important is to start watching what you eat...get more helathy foods into you. Lots of water, fresh fruit and veggies...whole foods etc. Things that will put a glow in you complexion, moisture in your skin, and nutrients that are vital to your daily bodily functions. That way you have energy and vitality to make it through the day. I wish you the best of luck with your endevors...but please be careful and seek advisement...i really think 110lbs sounds way to thin.

I have read a couple of your other posts, and if I'm not mistaken you mentioned that you had OCD, bipolar disorder, you've been cutting yourself, amoungst some other issues. Please understand that none of this is meant as an attack, but an attempt to get you to see that you may require assistance from qualified specialists in these areas.

At the height you recorded, the weight you would like to be seems unhealthy. I'm 5'6" and I was thin when I was younger (130 lbs). And although I modeled, I was convinced I was fat. I was never happy with my weight, but struggled to lose more. I'm just too muscular and large boned to successfully stay any lower than that. But, believe me, I understand what it's like to be a different body shape than you want to be. Some of that will get better as you get older. It seems alot of us learn to be more accepting of our bodies as get into our 30's and 40's.

But, what is more important than your weight, are the other issues your facing. You need to be workin with professionals to get a good handle on them before you can accurately figure out where your weight should fall to keep you healthy. If you aren't receiving the help you need, then maybe you should be looking for new doctors. I believe there is a section on this board for dieter's facing other issues. Maybe there are some others on here who can give some advice that worked for them.

One of my best friends growing up had bipolar disorder, and she went through several medications before she found something that would help her enough. Because bipolar sends your emotions from one extreme to the other, it can be responsible for a lot of emotional eating.

Aside from that, you might want to consider that weight isn't really what you're trying to lose. What I mean by that statement is, that overdieting (i.e. trying to bring your body weight down below a healthy level) is not all that different than alot of the overeating addictions that some face. Each individual is trying to cope with other issues in life. They just take a different approach to dealing with those issues. The important part to remember is if you ever want to be truly healthy, whatever that weight might be for you, you are going to HAVE to learn that those issues can not be resolved with food, or the deprivation of it. Those problems that you listed in another post aren't going to go away because you lose a few lbs. It would better for you to get them under control and then take a good look at yourself. Maybe you don't need to lose any weight, maybe toning your body up and eating properly will give you a leaner look while improving your skin, hair, etc. I can promise you that keeping the junk food to a moderate level and increasing the healthful foods in your diet will certainly make your body feel better at the least.

I hope you can take some of this to heart as sending yourself down a path to anorexia won't solve anything. Good luck!

Yeah, Makemethin

I have to ditto what other women are saying here. I don't want to seem like the type of person to "get into people's cases" but I hope you're healthy mentally and physically. I wish for nothing but the best for you and your goals. Having that said, please do not take offense to my questions. I know most of us try to be as cautious as we can, and I cannot say that I've ever been in your position, but I just hope that you are doing whatever you can to be healthy. Even though you could technically be healthy while underweight, it might be hard for you to lose weight past the point of healthy. If you find that you're not losing weight anymore when you hit 115, I hope you won't struggle to lose the extra 5 lbs. I mean, I don't know much about your situations but from what i read of your previous posts, I sure hope you will be okay.

Hey folks,

The original poster's question has been asked and answered, and the posts are beginning to get into makemethin's other potential issues. Since makemethin did not ask for advice on these in her post, I'm going to close this thread for now.
