Question Confused by scale reading...did I lose

Ok so I weighed myself today almost 2 weeks after I decided to do something about my weight. Two weeks ago it said 164.2. Today it said 156.2 I wore the same clothes, same time of day and same scale digital. I weighed myself on it three times and got the same reading. So did I have a true weight loss of 8 lb? All I have done is up my calories (1400 range), cut caffeine, I have drank nothing but water, take a one a day weight smart, and a Niacin pill at lunch.

Should I mark my ticker as a weight loss or leave as is?

Confused here.

I would weigh tomorrow. If it sticks, change the ticker.

I go two-days at an "all time low" before changing a ticker, personally. But yeah - sudden drops like that aren't all that uncommon.

Tomorrow or Friday I go back and then I will weigh. If it sticks or goes down I guess I will mark then.

It IS possible for your body to drop like that, though. I went through a long time period where I'd stall for a month, drop 8 lbs in 2 days, then stall for another month. Bizarre, but totally normal.

This is gonna kill me for the next 2 days to see if this is really a weight loss or not.

Hey need2lose! Gosh, not many people worry about this one! So, if you weight yourself in 2 days and it says you "only" lost 6 pounds, will you feel bad?

Don't go there! Whatever you lost, it's good!

If it says 6 I will still be very happy. I am more wondering if I can go ahead and mark my ticker as a loss or not.

I would... but if you're feeling unsure, wait until you weigh again. And of course, stay on your plan!

It's normal to have a bigger weight loss in the beginning when your body is losing water wieght and whatnot.

If i step on my scale 3 times in a row and it says the same thing, i call it a loss. But your body weight fluctuates from day to day, so in two days it could be up two pounds. If my scales say it, i say it is! I mean, your scale doesn't just make up numbers.

Just for the record, I definitely think it counts as a loss. 8 pounds in the first 2 weeks is great and not untypical. You've been doing a great job! Congratulate yourself, move your ticker and keep with it!
