Trying this again and as I begin my weight loss journey to a better, more fabulous me, I'm wondering where I might start to notice my weight loss first. Does anyone know what part of the body typically loses weight first?
According to Covert Bailey (who's retired now, but you can still find his books and look him up on the web), people lose weight from areas in the reverse order in which they gained it.
In other words, while I always had weight on my chest & hips, I got fat around my waist. That area loses when I lose. Depending on where you put yours on most recently, that is where it should disappear first. The areas where your body always stored it are the most resistant, since that's where you're genetically predisposed to store your weight in the first place, literally!

I've lost and regained weight so many times I've lost count, and while I've noticed tendencies in where I lose first, I haven't lost it the same places in the same order every time. I've finally learned to throw clothing away soon after it doesn't fit. If it is too big, I don't want it around as a "safety net," and if it's too small, by the time I fit into it again, it may not fit the way it did the first time around.
I think that is right, too (lose weight from the last place you gained it)
I am only 5'2" and currently 166lbs (started at 178) and no one can notice yet except me.
Guess where I lost? My "back fat" and the lower part of my paunch ..so not that noticeable to others but meanwhile my panties are falling down and my bra I am using 2 positions smaller now. lol
Not complaining, back fat is a b with an itch..lol And I'll take a loss wherever I can get one (and with D goodies I can even stand to lose from the bosom)

D'you know that just never occurred to me but it's totally true for me too. I also lose weight from my face and stomach first because they're the last things to get pudgy. Bad news is that I've had fat thighs forever....
With me it depends on how i diet. When i cut out carbs i always loose in the waist first,i think bread,beer, pasta and rice puff up my belly. Then i will start to loose in other areas.
I always lose in my face first, and people start noticing right away, it seems. After that, I usually notice my pants sitting loosely, so I guess my waist is next.
I had heard that your body will try to get rid of weight that is closest to your organs, which is usually in the abdomen. That was true for me, I lost a lot of weight in my abdomen but didn't notice a lot of weight elsewhere, now I am losing more evenly throughout my body.
When I lost a lot of weight last year I noticed it in my face first, then my calves and waist. This time around I've only lost 9 lbs. so far but I notice it around my neck and shoulders.
When I lost some weight two years ago, people noticed it in my face first and then I got comments on how loose my pants were getting. Don't know yet this time, but my pants are starting to get looser already.
