Okay. I have a weight problem......but I also have a scale problem. I weigh myself constantly, and perhaps it is an okay thing because I never would have noticed.....My scale is nuts!
This morning I got on my scale and it read a weird number (lost 3 lbs from yesterday..) so I figured it was a mistake. So I got on it again. It shot up 4 lbs! So I got on it again. Another different reading! I got on and off for about 10 minutes, and got different readings fluctuating from everything from 277.5-273.0!!!
Has anyone ever had this problem? And I doing something wrong? Or is it just a dud?
If it's electrical it could need new batteries, if it's mechanical it might've died! I had a mechanical scale that had a variation of about 7lbs or more.
Its gotta be the scale. I can get on my scale 15 times and it always reads exactly the same (and it isn't any expensive scale~I paid about $30 for it). I'd look into either replacing any batteries that may have gone bad or get a new scale. Mine is the "Thinner" brand. It weighs only in half pound increments, but that's okay with me.
Sometimes the load sensors on the things just wear out. I got so frustrated with my scale doing the same sort of thing to me last year, that I got one of those mechanical beam physician's scales. I may not like the answer it gives me but at least it will give me the same answer in a row.
About 7 years ago my boss (and he's STILL my boss!) gave me one of those Dr scales with the weights. It must be at least 35 years old but has always been so reliable. I tossed my digital scale in the trash years ago as I also had that problem.
oh NO!!!! I just got a weight watchers scale for christmas (brand new) and this morning it was fluctuating. Don't tell me the batteries have already died! They're supposed to be long lasting lithium. Mine wasn't a big change though (although depressing). It was only a 0.5 lb difference and it gave me the same result after the first time I stepped on it. *sigh*
Oh well. I'll take it. It's a good reminder to not go wild on the PB.
