Default A different POV on weight loss: Eat More, Move Less

http://greatist.com/fitness/eat-more...transformation

The title is a bit sensationalist. But the author is effectively saying that by increasing her protein and fibre intake, she reduced the desire to binge and eat junk. And that by replacing chronic cardio with resistance training, she added muscle and lost fat. Not revolutionary, but worth repeating.

At the very least, it makes a strong argument for trying new strategies, and figuring out what works for YOU! Not what you think SHOULD work for you.

And another, on long-term weight loss; adjusting our assumptions.

If you'll forgive a few pictures of scantily clad men:

A calorie is not always a calorie.

My pleasure - I have a bad habit of playing devil's advocate sometimes, but I really do enjoy the conversation/contemplation these articles can start.

Pixellate, you are an expert about your own body. But I would hate for you to think that your gut is permanently 'stretched out'.

I've always understood that the stomach/intestines/etc are rather elastic organs - they shrink and stretch in proportion to use. Would it be possible to experiment with trying to eat smaller meals, drinking 500ml of water before eating, etc? Sometimes our psychological hunger and our physiological signals of satiety don't always match up.

Something to consider, anyway.

@Defining - Thank you so much for posting the links to these wonderful articles! I can't believe how much I've learned in the last 30 minutes from reading them! The T-nation article is especially useful and revealing. If only I had read them a couple years back...

Hey Sally, sorry for never replying to your 'thanks'. I've been away for a while, and didn't see it 'till now. I'm glad you enjoyed the articles, and hope that your journey is going well!
