I have never tried quinoa. Although I am skeptical about superfoods, it does sound healthy and I just might have to give it a chance after reading this:

Oh, I probably have seen too many promoted by Dr. Oz that later I read articles on that say they are over-hyped. I know there are many great and nutritional foods out there. I just don't know if I trust the term "superfood" anymore.

I don't really like the taste. It tastes bitter to me. I had some with stir fry. How do you eat it?

Yeah, quinoa is technically a chenopod. It's got all the essential aminos, and is often grown organically. I love it particularly as a pilaf.

FYI- some Quinoa requires rinsing (like rice can) before eating because un-rinsed it has saponin in it (which can taste bitter). So check to see if the directions call for rinsing.

mmmmm! I love love love Quinoa! I like to use it like a rice substitute. Anything I would use rice for I try to use Quinoa instead. Its delicous!

I love it. I have Celiac therefore I am always looking for alternatives and Quinoa is a staple part of my diet now-a-days. Try, it, you may like it!

I just had Quinoa and flax seed pasta and it was yummy.

I rinse it..and then cook it like rice.

Sometimes I eat it by itself..sometimes mixed with other stuff in a cold salad...and Trader Joe's has a really yummy Harvest blend with Orzo, baby Garbanzo's, lentils and red quinoa YUMMY

I like it but it does get stuck between my teeth.

Real superfood is canned fish.

You just would not believe: a) how many people turn their nose up at it; b) how good it is for you; and c) how good it is for weightloss.

I had canned chinook salmon today with my salad. Delish.

I love quinoa too. Aside from rinsing, cooking quinoa like pasta (in a generous amount of water or broth) also yields a milder, sweeter finished product. Because the grains are small, you do need to use a fine mesh strainer rather than a colender to drain (if necessary, obviously if you're adding quinoa to soups thete's no need to drain).

Hubby wasn't too keen on quinoa the first couple times I made it for us (as a plain side dish), but now he loves it. The dish that converted him, was my fried rice recipe using quinoa in place of some of the rice. Now he even likes it with quinoa and no rice.

My fried rice recipe really isn't a recipe, it's rice, quinoa, or grated cauliflower (or a mix of all three) leftover veggies, left over meats, eggs, garlic, onion, spring onion, waterchestnuts, pea pods and fish sauce or stirfry sauce (or soy sauce and a bit of sweetener like allfruit apricot spread) and a bit of oil to stirfry it all in.

It's a bit different every time. There are tons of recipes online, even on youtube.
