The Guardian -- Obesity and modern food

Interesting article today in The Guardian about how modern fast food is "designed" to override satiety and feelings of fulness, and encourage more eating:

"Obesity: The killer combination of salt, fat and sugar
Our favourite foods are making us fat, yet we can't resist, because eating them is changing our minds as well as bodies"

David A Kessler

Kessler's book, The End of Overeating, started me on this journey. I cut out junk food cold turkey after reading it. Partly just from the effect of all that knowledge, partly by getting angry at the food industry and letting my inner rebel express that by refusing to participate in the Modern American way of eating (a much better role for a rebel than constantly saying "I want to eat that and I don't care if it's healthy or not"), and partly because he encouraged making rules to fit my own situation. My rules: "No eating in the car" and "No eating anything purchased from a drug store or gas station."

Have you read Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint. Yup, this is intriguing stuff.
