Mastercook is awesome. I've been searching for something for my Mac but the leading software (MacGourmet) seems a bit too cumbersome for my needs.

Okay. I am heavily disappointed. Just ordered a new computer - and it's got Vista on it. Soooo, no Mastercook for me. I think I was even more excited about the Mastercook then the new computer. Okay. Any one have any other suggestions??????? Pretty please...

I'm going to be testing Shop N Cook this week to see how well it does. It supports Vista and seems to have pretty good reviews. Unfortunately, many Windows software vendors may not support Vista and no interest in doing so with Windows 7 OS on the horizon.

I'm going to hate Vista, aren't I? My first lap top and before I even own it, I'm having problems.

You can uninstall Vista and put on an older version of Windows. Or just buy a Mac

Usually when you order a new PC you can have them put a different OS on it, also. Vista seems to have very mixed reviews - similar to XP when it first came out. Imo, it's still too new to have the bugs worked out, and anytime you're dealing with a new OS there's software compatibility issues.

I did read that if you have Vista, and MasterCook version 9, if you don't USE MasterCook before you allow it to run as an admin, it seems to work ok. See this link for more details on how to do that, since you're new to Vista.
