Default Gardenburger - Garden Vegan

I bought 3 packages of these because they were on sale, now I may know why they were on sale

Actually they aren't bad broiled in a toaster oven. Maybe its just me, but they kind of had a fishy undertone. I looked up the ingredients thinking maybe they added kelp or another sea vegetable but I don't see it. They aren't bad though slathered with mustard. I think I can eat almost any veggie burger slathered with mustard.

I also bought the gardenburger chicken patties. We'll see how they taste.

Although my favorite vegan veggie burger is the "Health is Wealth" Chicken free line. They are sooooo good. If I ever find those on sale, I stock up heavily.

I can't bring myself to like any of the soy protein products. I don't know why, I try them all with an open mind and then completely detest them :X

The garden vegan burger isn't a soy protein burger. Its a wheat gluten (and grain and veggie) burger. The non soy burgers are the ones I generally like more and I used to have a hard time eating soy protein burgers. My tastes have changed though over time and I do ok with the soy protein burgers. I still can't stomach to try the soy crumbles though. I tried them many years ago and thought they were disgusting and I can't stomach to try them again.

The gardenburger bbq riblets though are good

I eat almost exclusively soy. I don't think I've ever really had a product, aside from the yogurt, that I didn't like. My newest favorite thing is the soy "beef" jerkey. OMG soooo good! 81 cals for a good portion, like 300 sodium (which is WAY less than regular jerkey), 10 g protein, 1 g fat ...tastes delicious and I believe it is vegan. YUMMY.

I'd like to learn how to make my own yummy veggie patties, because the ones at the store are so expensive. I haven't found any good recipes though.

Athendta, I think I saw someone say that the black bean burgers in Veganomicon are really good.

I buy veggie burgers of all kinds when they are on sale. Costco carries both Dr Praegers california veggie burgers and vegan boca burgers which helps.
