We're doing a hot dog lunch at work and I know there are a few vegetarians that work in my building.
I am of no help b/c I do not eat the veggie dogs, they are too high in salt for me and it would be hard to eat the whole package before they go bad & I'm not sure you can freeze them?
Anyway, I need to know what some of the better-tasting brands are? Any help you can give would be much appreciated!!!

I've never had a regular veggie dog, but I've had Morningstar Farms veggie corn dogs and they were really good. They also make the plain hot dogs, I've seen them in the freezer case next to the other Morningstar Farms products.
I buy Yves and love them (and I'm pretty sure you can freeze them). Admittedly, I think they need some sort of condiment to be really good, but on a bun with some mustard, relish etc? Very yum!
I like the MS Farms ones the best. Why not ask a couple of the veggies what they like? How are you going to cook them? Different brands have a very different consistency don't "cook up" well using certain methods.
Yves.. with some yummy mustard on whole wheat bread. I like horseradish mustard or grey poupon. And yes, I freeze mine all the time. Oh and I cook them in a bit of water in the microwave for a min.. easy and yummy.
I’ve never had the Yves brand, but the best veggie dogs I’ve tasted are the Morningstar Farms ones. Do make sure your co-workers are not vegans before you get the MSF ones though, they have egg and dairy ingredients.
How thoughtful of you to look out for the vegetarians!
The Yves brand are good. Loaded with all the usual fixin's they are pretty tasty!
Well, it was a kickoff event for the whole company. I didn't want anyone to walk away from it saying, "They had free lunch for everybody at work today. Everybody except me." Not acceptable to me.
I wound up getting the Lightlife Smart Dogs, and put them in a crock pot full of hot water. I waited to do this until right before we served. I came back later & there were a few still floating. I think what I would do next year is to just heat them in the water, then put them on the hotplate portion of my slow cooker & grill them a little on that.
We have 3 vegetarians and a few people who would not eat a regular hot dog. I bought 10 & was left with only 3. It turned out great, thanks for your help.
Would I buy them to eat at home? Meh. They are a bit salty for this lo-sodium gal, but I would definitely consider it for days everyone else is eating one & I don't want to stand out with my bun full of relish, onions, mustard & sauerkraut.
