I can't see the ad, but McDonalds holds no appeal to me and never really has done. I may have got fat, but it wasn't because of fast food. I've actually just read "Chew on This" (which went over much of the same ground as "Fast Food Nation" and was a bit disappointing because I'd already read that a couple of times), which pretty much confirmed my opinions on fast food.

Chocolate and wine, on the other hand... (actually, not wine at the moment, I'm going through a strange "aversion to alcohol" spell at the moment. Not a bad thing, but rather odd).

I've still got Micky D's - with that magic lamp and the male porn star heading. Lucky I don't like that kind of 'food' - never have. There was a thing on the radio about it this morning - apparently the 'Soil Association' were slamming some of the fast food joints which target kids saying that the nutrition in their meals was even less than that in school dinners. Yeah - like THAT was a surprise... not!

Chris - we've got a Landrover Discovery. The boys go right in the back and stare out at the drivers behind us but we can't fit Ellie in there as well (it makes it a bit too cosy and when Ellie feels cramped she gets wind) so she has to lie down on the back seat. Technically. In real terms she sits up on the middle of back seat looking forwards. At least she's stopped trying to get in to the front now - just down DH's neck instead.

Welcome Cottages is another good website for cottage holidays. We use them because a lot of their cottages allow dogs.

I say blimey! I used to say it an awful lot when I first moved to London and my friends were Essex lads!

Ad free is only $15/£7.71 for 6 months.

I don't like McD I used to be proud I'd only ever been to one once but since my sister moved back here I've been dragged in a few times.

I'm ill. My usual Christmas illness has come early.

My weight problem has always been caused by the same thing- Supper. I've always cooked reasonably healthy dinners (although I've always liked big helpings with a glass or two of wine to wash it down) but my daily suppers were what really slammed on the weight. I always had the same thing - large hunks of homemade fresh wholemeal bread with a pat of butter, a couple of ounces EACH of two different kinds of cheese - accompanied by another large glass of red wine. I just worked it out at 1000 calories! Just for a snack! Scary

Veggie - Poor you - hope you feel better soon - nothing too serious, I hope.

I'm not worried by the ads, I usually click through on the ads on this site as I imagine they are paid per click through. 3FC are kind enough to provide this site for us for free so a few ads don't bother me. Just seems funny to see a McDs ad on a diet website. I've still got it, BTW I've tried deleting cookies but it hasn't done anything.

'Blummin' is an internet thing for me. This isn't the only forum site I post on and on one of the other forums I got a moderator 'slap' for using the word bl**dy - I obviously offended someone!

Alice - what a gorgeous name!

Next door's little one use to walk around saying bucket a lot - it took me ages to figure out why - she gets all when I remind her about that now.

Yay... McDs has gone - I've now got Amazon, Vodafone and Sky. Must click to support 3FC - not that I'd ever have anything from Vodafone ever again.
