DIY dieters RL support group - Blackpool

  • Hi

I'm starting a support group for DIY dieters - you know, dieters that aren't going to WW or SW or any other kind of group, that are just quietly getting on with it by themselves.

One thing we lack is the support that comes with being part of a group. So I'm starting a little group in Blackpool just to meet once a week at my house and have a weigh-in, natter and swap recipes and tips, maybe make exercise dates, and just basically be a support group for each other.

If anyone posts here from Blackpool and woud be interested, let me know. I've written to the local paper to try and get an article written and I plan to put up posters etc. There wouldn't be any charge except if it takes off and becomes a bit bigger than my house. Then if we have to hire a church hall or something there might be a nominal fee to cover the hire - but I'm not doing it to make money - just friends!
  • If I see anyone from Blackpool I'll point them in your way. It would cost me
£17 to get there and back so I'll have to rule myself out.
  • I'd love to come, but I'm too far away as well
  • Sorry, Robsia, I'm the other side of the country.

How about putting a card in the window of your local newsagent or Post Office - or on the noticeboard at the library?
  • I'm in Blackpool tomorrow and Saturday, but just a flying visit to see family I'm afraid.

Thanks - I have printed off some posters which I intend to distribute in the area - but it's good to have several lines of advertising - putting a thread on here was merely one of several
  • Yay - it's on the internet!!

First meeting attracted about 14 phone calls and 8 ladies. Second meeting only 2 came but the weather was foul and two said they couldn't come that week anyway, so I'm hoping there will be a few more this week.
  • I wish I lived closer, then I'd come. It would save paying the £5 to Rosemary Conley,if nothing else.

    Good Luck.

  • Good idea - maybe I should try it here. WW has got a stranglehold on this village.
  • Great article Robsia.
  • Wow sounds great, but me also is too far away but I hope you have some success!
