  • ... Till we get married!

He he, we've got November 4th provisionally on hold if we can sort out the registrar for that date then it's all sorted (kinda!)

So I guess I've got 7 and a half months to buff up! Better get lifting those weights again
  • Ooh will there be fireworks? Are you scared?
  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek indeed!!!! Better you than me!!!!!!!!
  • It's very exciting though!!!
  • No fireworks! I'm only scared about finding a bloody dress!
  • OMG - I thought you were going to say you're pregnant! Don't DO that to me!!!!!

Ooohhhh!!! Exciting! Don't be scared - being married is lovely.

You can buff up in 7 and a half months - set a target and we'll all cheer you on and kick your tail end if you slack. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
  • Oh yeah... I forgot about the preggers scare! See how overtrained I was, I thought I was preggers

Okay, first small target, no free days till after easter. Free meals allowed, just no full-on pig-out days!
  • Having been married nearly 14 years I'll just say ... RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

    No, really, it's fine

However, I've been there with the dress thing. Oh my, yes. I searched 4 countries for a dress that I liked and that could be made to fit. I bought one in Kendal, my nearest town from where I grew up, in the end. I hated it. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE - look now and find one, so you don't buy one a week before the wedding like me (and we'd booked the church 14 months in advance!).

My wedding dress was made into a christening robe for my daughter. And I made sure I made the first scissor cut, I was so grateful to get rid of it.

So look now, don't panic you have plenty of time, and just try and enjoy
  • I've been looking!!

I really liked this one but I can't find a shop that stocks it! There is a halter neck style in Debenhams, which I think I might try on this Saturday if I don't have a kickboxing lesson.

  • Oh, that's lovely

I was a size 28 when I got married. It was just meringue or meringue.

We're thinking of renewing our vows next year (15th anniversary) and it's all about the dress for me and very little about the spouse
  • You'll find the frock. Come to Ramsbottom, we have two frock shops!!! I've always wanted an excuse to play in the wedding dress shops!!! And we have a cake shop "Don't Forget the Cake" and we have an invitation shop, it must be the wedding capital of the North West!!!

I got married in a Victorian style straight lace gown, I loved it be but hubby didn't. And I wore a huge hat!!!! And no, there are no pictures!! And I had a bad nineties perm!!! No wonder the whole thing scares me!!!
  • Ooooh I used to want a hat! But what did you do with it when you were partying? I would have hat hair. Hats love me, I think people should wear more hats!

I might have to come up and we'll do wedding dress shopping, vibro plate and yoga things! I still have to get the idea past DF and maybe I can get the Megabus to Manchester?
  • We didn't party!!! Our wedding was at a church which had a big hall, and we had an afternoon tea afterwards. Neither of us drank, and weren't into dancing, so it was quite a sedate affair.
  • Oh well in that case I would wear a hat!

I just want a little slinky number so that I can dance and not trip over my train and or meringue!
  • Hats are good. I always wear hats to weddings if I can. It's my excuse to wear a hat

My niece is getting married in Bristol this May and she just emailed me last week and said NO HATS! Little minx.
