Well done Shush for getting your butt to the gym - like I said, you are bound to feel a bit self conscious and out of place at first, but stick with it and you'll soon feel like part of the furniture.

I am veggie too - glad I'm not the only fat vegetarian around!

I don't even like saying out loud I'm vegetarian because you just know what people are thinking!

Sorry but that did make me laugh out loud. Hope you feel better soon Shush. It does sound a bit worrying not being able to make a fist though!

I think the gym is very expensive, mine is £43 but I have a student rate of £26 - I think I would still go though even if I paid full price. I go three times a week when I am being good and I really love switching on my Ipod Shuffle and blocking out the rest of the world. It is my "me" time.

Unhappy The morning after (the gym) day 2

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

Worse today

MY arms and shoulders
On the plus side, i did read somewhere that i should be used to it after about 3 WEEKS !!!

oh and i can't lift my arms to feed myself so that should keep the calories down

What's that saying about life, lemons and lemonade - yeah right

Pain is good Shush - just think of all those muscles that are working now! They say the second day is the worst, so hopefully things will start to get better tomorrow!

I remember when I first joined - even though I had been swimming and walking and going on my exercise bike at home for 6 months, it was obviously nothing compared to a gym workout! Even now, I am aching again because I've had a new programme and am working different muscles.

It's all good though (as long as it's just muscle aches and stiffness!) - this is the worst it gets, you'll never feel as bad as you do today again!

Thumbs up Thanks Ladies

For your words of encouragement and concern

"Just think, that soreness is building muscle! You toned thing you!"

My other half said I was walking around like one of the Thunderbird puppets but not quite so animated.

I think i'm over the worst bit now as long as i don't have to do anything too strenuos like walking upright or brushing my hair etc. I'll be fine

After Mondays leg weights I need a crane to use the toilet! I find I just can't bend that way without screaming for at least 2 days!

You will get used to it - after all, it's "good" pain!

Pain is good The other week I woke up and couldn't move my abs or legs for days. I just kept imagining those toned stomach muscles hiding somewhere under the flab.
